Befre the prject started, I stayed at hme and helped my mther with the husewrk.
Ging t schl changed my life.
I learnt t read and write and d many ther things.
Nw I wrk as a teacher at a Spring Bud schl here in Guangxi.
I wish t help ther girls the way the Spring Bud Prject helped me.

She enjyed taking care f the baby cranes.
If a bird became sick, she tk gd care f it and stayed with it every day until it was strng enugh t fly again.
In September 1987, ne f the birds went missing.
The wrkers in the nature reserve lked everywhere, but n ne culd find it.
Xiujuan was very wrried. She lked fr it day and night fr tw days.
On the secnd night, while she was lking fr the missing bird, she fell int a river and died. She was nly 23.
