The researchers invited 61 students frm St. Bnaventure University in New Yrk t take part in the research. The 22 men and 39 wmen were all in their early twenties. The researchers first divided the students int fur grups and gave them red, green, brwn and black pencils t draw pictures f different fd including cupcakes, pizza, strawberries and pepper (胡椒).
The researchers used a research tl (工具) t assess md changes. They made the students recrd their md, hunger and level (水平) f excitement befre and after the fiveminute drawing exercise, which was dne when they were hungry.
The result shwed drawing pizza imprved the students' md by 28%, while drawing cupcakes and strawberries imprved their spirit by 27% and 22%. Hwever, md in the pepper grup imprved by nly 1%.
