Step 1. Befre the class, check hw many students can retell the main meaning abut the text. Encurage the entire students preview the new lessn and ask questins abut the text.
Step 2. Listen t the tape and answer the fllwing questins:
1. Where did they shw stamp cllectin?
2. Whse hbby did Brian enjy best?
Step 3. Read the text and check the answers. Read the text ludly.
Step 4. Have a further discussin abut the text: Did Jenny make any new friends? What is her new friend like? Encurage yur students t imagine and t say smething abut him r her.
Step 5. Cme t “LET’S DO IT”
Write a passage abut smene yu knw wh is a cllectr. Divide the class int several grups. Then let the students discuss their passages tgether. D yu think whse hbby is the mst interesting? If yu want t be a cllectr, what d yu want t cllect? Why?
Step 6. Practice the using f the v-ing
Write the fllwing sentences n the blackbard. Ask the students t sum the grammar by themselves. Watching TV t much is bad fr yur eyes.
Her jb is lking after babies.
Seeing is believing.
When a verb is taken as the subject, verb-ing is used. Verb-ing can be used as predicative. Ask the students t write a few sentences including verb-ing.
Hmewrk:
1. Finish ff the activity bk.
2. G n the next reading in the student bk.
Summary:
The teacher shuld let the students grasp hw t learn knwledge but nt what t learn. In anther wrd, the students must make the class student-centered nt teacher-centered when the teacher arranges the class. They can have the students sum grammars by themselves. Then practice them. The results will be much better than befre.
