Step 1:Warming up
T:Hello,boys and girls.Nice to meet you!Today we are going to a country,do you know which country it is?
Ss:Yes!It’s Canada.
T:What do you know about Canada?
S:(stand up)It’s very cold in winter.
T:OK,very good.Read the lesson with the questions:
1.What percent of Canadians are from the First Nations?
2.What languages do most immigrants in Canada speak?
3.Why are there many cultures in Canada?
4.What’s the Canadian way of understanding the world?
设计意图:新课开始,教师通过设计几个学生感兴趣的问题导入新课,能调动他们的学习积极性和好奇心,带着问题去阅读全文,让学生更快的理解文章主题
Step 2:Prelistening
1.Teach phrases and practice the sentence pattern.
教师给学生创设接待客人的风俗习惯,然后教师出示好的礼仪的图片,导入词汇、短语、句型的学习。在这个环节,学生学习短语according to,Central American,more than,be home to等。老师带着学生学习课文中的重要词组,然后利用词组组成新的句子,同学之间进行操练。例如:It’s important to keep different languages,religion and customs.首先老师要带领同学对句子进行讲解,然后对句式:It’s+形容词+to do sth.进行新的造句。
2.Do Exercise 2 and Exercise 3 on Page 121.
设计意图:锻炼学生的思考能力,同时培养学生的语感。让学生能抓住文中的重点词汇和句型,善于归纳。
Step 3:Drill
Do Exercise 1 on Page 121.
设计意图:通过学生们反复朗读课文,理解了课文之后得到的答案,与第一遍的答案进行对比,加强了学生们的记忆,同时也锻炼学生们的口语表达能力。
Step 4:Do Exercise 4 on Page 121.
设计意图:培养学生们的逻辑思维能力和口语表达能力。
