The Plastic Bttle Village is just a great idea that might finally save us frm being buried in plastic. It's a cmmunity(社区)in Panama that is ging t be entirely made f used bttles.
The village will include abut 120 hmes f varying sizes. The design prcess begins with building frames f steel, which are then filled with these bttles. Once this step is cmplete, and electrical and plumbing lines are put inside, the plastic walls are cvered by cncrete—bth inside and utside. S n ne will actually be able t tell that the walls are made f plastic. Besides, the material will keep the huse 17℃ cler than the temperature utside.
The Village is the brainchild f Rbert Bezeau with the intentin f setting up several envirnmental prjects. Having started a recycling prgram in 2012, during which a number f plastic bttles were cllected, he started t think f hw they culd be put t use. Sn enugh, he decided t use them t build huses, and came up with a basic idea fr the cnstructin prcess.
Over 10,000 plastic bttles were used t build the first huse, which was cmpleted late last year. The bttles were btained frm the same recycling prject that Rbert had set up. The next hme is expected t be bigger, and will need mre bttles t build. The "re-cnstructed" hmes will be sld n request fr anywhere between $ 149,000 and $ 300,000. The cmmunity will als feature ther facilities(设施)such as gardens, mini-parks, and mre.
