Teacher deal with the words that is difficult to read.

    1.  compete vi. 竞争，比赛

        competitive adj.  竞争的；有竞争力的

competition  n. 竞争     competitor   n. 竞争者

compete with/against…和……竞争

compete for… 为了……而比赛（目的）

compete in    参加……比赛，在某方面竞争(参与项目)

can’t compete  （尤指比自己强大或更好的）无法竞争

    2.  take part in   参加，参与

       attend, join, join in和take part in 用法区别
