2.学生能听说、认读、理解、运用重点句型。It lives in..., It eats..., It has got..., But they are in great danger. Let’s join in to help them.
3.学生们能够正确理解两篇海报文本,完成相应的练习题。
4.学生们能够了解熊猫和华南虎濒危的原因。能够用英文表达如何帮助熊猫和华南虎。
5.学生们能够小组合作,情境表演,自创短剧表演华南虎濒危的原因,并呼吁更多人保护华南虎。
6.学生们能够了解海报的格式和作用,运用重点句型创作海报,并与同学分享。

教学过程:
Step1. Warming up
- Sing a song: Old MacDonald had a farm.
- 复习六种濒危动物,并讲解本节课的评价方式。
T:Today we will continue to learn Unit5 Animals in danger. There are many animals in danger in this world. Look, What is it?
S: It is a black rhino.
T: Where does it live?
S: It lives in Africa. (依次出示黑犀牛,非洲象,考拉,熊猫,北极熊,雪豹的图片。询问Where does it live? 将对应的图片移动到所属的地方。)
T: Each group, you have a kind of sticker on your desk. In this class, if you answer my question correctly, then you can put a sticker on the blackboard. Let’s see which group wins the most stickers and which group does best in our class, OK?
S:OK.
Step2.Presentation
- Watch a video. (播放功夫熊猫片段,引出主题)
T: Today, I have got a friend for you. Look, who is he?
S: He is Kongfu Panda.
T: Great. How do you think of the Kongfu Panda?
S: I think he is very fat/cute/lovely/strong....
T: Have you seen the movie Kongfu Panda? What do you know about Kongfu Panda? You can say anything.
S: Kongfu Panda fights bad people. Kongfu Panda has a lot of friends. They also have kongfu. ...
- Listen and fill in the blanks.
The panda lives in _____.
It eats ____________.
It has beautiful _________.
It is _________ and _________.
People _________the world love pandas.
(填空的方式让学生熟悉文本,并重点讲解The panda eats bamboo. People around the world loves pandas.帮助学生理解文本。)
T: In the movie, what does Kongfu Panda eat?
S: He eats a lot of things.
T: Yes, he eats noodles, vegetables, eats a lot of things just like our people. But in our daily life, can a panda eat noodles?
S: No. The panda eats bamboo.
T: And in this sentence, people around the world means people everywhere.
- Introduce Kongfu Panda’s father—a duck.(在电影中,功夫熊猫的父亲是一只鸭子,这不符合常理,由此引发学生思考,并引出熊猫濒危的话题。)
T: In this video, there is another character. Who is he?
S: He is Kongfu Panda’s father.
T: Is he a panda, too?
S: No, he is a duck.
T: Why is a duck the father of a panda? Maybe...
S: Maybe there are so few pandas left in the world. They are in great danger.
- Introduce pandas (根据网上对熊猫的介绍,增加学生们对熊猫的认识。)
T: If we search the Internet, we can find out that pandas have lived in our earth for more than 8,000,000 years. But there are less than 1600 pandas in the wild. And a panda can only live to 18 to 20 years.
- Why are pandas in danger? ( 通过学生录制的一段视频,用情境表演的方式,展现了熊猫濒危的三个原因, 并为后面小组演示华南虎濒危的原因做好铺垫。)
T: There are so few pandas left in the world. Why are pandas in danger? Some students in our class have made a survey and they find out the reasons. They made a video for it. Let’s watch the video and find out why are pandas in danger.

T: So why are pandas in danger?
S1: Because pandas only eat bamboo.
S2: Because when a panda was born, it is so small. It’s difficult for it to live.
S3: Because people cut down trees. They have no forest to live.
- What should we do? (激发学生思考,我们可以怎样帮助熊猫,锻炼学生的英语表达能力和思维能力。)
S1: We should plant more trees.
S2: We should let pandas live in a safe place.

- A poster about pandas.( 呈现熊猫的海报,让学生们了解海报的格式和作用。海报包括标题,正文和图片。通过海报可以让更多的人一起保护熊猫。)
T: We can also make a poster to call on more people to help pandas. Look, this is my poster. A poster should have a title, pictures and the text.
- Read the poster together.
- Introduce the panda village. (播放功夫熊猫电影中熊猫村的片段,呼吁人们一起帮助熊猫,帮助熊猫建立一个快乐的熊猫村。)
T: With our help, maybe there will be a panda village someday.

S: It lives in China. It eats other animals. It has got four legs. It has got beautiful fur. ...
- Listen to the poster and judge T or F. (对错判断的方式帮助学生理解文本)

- Watch a video and have a discussion. ( 通过学习微课视频,小组内选择以下一个话题进行讨论,并总结小组讨论结果。)

Step3.Consolidation (本部分视学生掌握情况和剩余时间来选择几个小组进行表演。)
Group work
Rules: Five students as a group. Three as South China Tigers, two as people. Try to make a short play to help South China Tigers. (五人一组,三人扮演华南虎,两人扮演人类,尝试自己创作短剧。)
① Describe South China Tigers.(描述华南虎。)
② Tell people why are South China Tigers in danger. (告诉人们华南虎为什么濒危。)
③ Call on more people to protect South China Tigers. (号召更多人保护华南虎。)
Step4.Production
- Today we learnt a poster about pandas and a poster about South China Tigers. But there are a lot of other animals in danger.

T: As yesterday’s homework, I ask you to paint a picture of a kind of animal in danger. So you have finished the paintings. Now, please finish your poster. Maybe these sentences can help you.

Step5. Extension
- Introduce Yao Ming. He is a top basketball player. But he is also an ambassador for wildlife conservation.(野生动物保护大使)
- Introduce International Day for the protection of rare animals. (介绍国际珍稀动物保护日)
Step6:Homework
1. Tell your parents and friends why pandas and South China Tigers are in danger.
2. Search the Internet and find out more about wildlife protection.
