There are more Starbucks special drinks than you could ever dream of, and we’re talking about the items that maybe aren’t offered at your local shop but are offered at one of the other approximately 30,000 locations around the world. Depending on what country you are in, the menu may look a little different, so if you’re planning a trip anytime soon, check out what fun drinks you may find!
Japan— Sakura Blossom Cream Latte
The drink is currently only available in Japan. Sakura, which means cherry blossom, is considered to be a symbol of regeneration and simplicity. It is the national flower of Japan, and Starbucks typically only has the drink available in the springtime.
The drink itself is just pink, with sakura sauce, cherry blossom milk jelly, and strawberry sauce or jelly used to create the pink color, the drinks also come in special cherry blossom-themed cups.
Vietnam— Dolce Misto
Starbucks created the Dolce Misto specifically for the Vietnamese market. “It’s designed to bring Vietnamese customers a new flavor and respect for traditional Vietnamese coffee,” said the general director of Starbucks Vietnam on its release in 2015.
Dolce Misto is reportedly one of the strongest drinks in any Starbucks throughout the world. If sweet and strong is how you like your coffee and you live in Vietnam, this is the perfect Monday-afternoon pick-me-up for you.
Chile — Lemon Bar Frappuccino
Meant to be the perfect sweet-and-sour summer drink, Starbucks Chile offered a Lemon Bar Frappuccino for the summer of 2018. With the combination of vanilla bean and lemonade topped with caramel sugar and whipped cream, the drink was relatively well received, though some were disappointed there was no coffee in it. It’s still unknown whether Starbucks will be bringing the limited edition drink back to Chile or anywhere for the summer of 2019.
21.When is Sakura Blossom Cream Latte accessible to customers in Japan?
A. October. B. July. C. December. D. April.
22. What is special about Dolce Misto?
A. It is available throughout the world. B. It helps open the Vietnamese market.
C. It is a refreshing strong drink for customer. D. It is a traditional Vietnamese coffee drink.

A. It offers sweet-and-sour taste.
B. It is a Starbucks drink without coffee.
C. It is one of the limited drinks in Chile.

B
“I will need to open your neck to remove the tumor,” the surgeon told me on a hot summer day. The words turned into white noise. “So, an ugly scar across my neck, then?” I asked. The nurse said: “ Don’t worry. The closure is like his signature. Just like you want a perfect scar, he wants to give you one. You’ll barely see it.” I found some comfort in that.
I googled “cancer surgery scar” and was presented with neck images: necks with red and purple lines, closed with stitches or glue; necks with multiple scars…. It was enough to make me shut my Macbook,as anxiety pulsed through my body. In the mirror, I admired my neck, running my finger across a gold chain I wore. Then a tiny voice said: “ Mummy!”
My then five-year-old son, Jack, appeared in the mirror behind me. Our reflection was a big reality check. See, my son didn’t know I had cancer and was having surgery. I’m a single mom. Jack lives with me and doesn't have a relationship with his father. I'm his hero. I’m the homework helper, nurse, chef, taxi driver, and every other variation of parent, I knew I couldn’t wimp out over cancer or some scar on my neck—I’m this kid’s life!
So I did the next best thing I could think of: I made an appointment to get my hair done a few days before the first surgery. My goal was simple: golden hair to frame my scar. If I couldn’t hide it, I might as well show it off. I never had any intentions of hiding the scar. I didn’t want my son to think my scar was something to be ashamed of. I’m his role model and I needed to set a good example. Bad things can happen, but it’s how you deal with them that matters.
The scar proves I faced my fear and won. If I got through that, I can get through all the hardships, land on my feet and live boldly.
24. How did the author feel about the would-be scar across her neck at first?
A. Comfortable and relieved. B. Anxious and frightened.

25. What do the underlined words “wimp out” in Paragraph 3 refer to?
A. Challenge oneself. B. Ignore pain.
C. Overcome fear. D. Lose courage.
26. Why did the author want to get her hair styled?
A. To show her scar bravely. B. To shape beautiful hair.
C. To hide the obvious scar. D. To make her son proud.
27. What is the story intended to convey?
A. We should never hide our scars or any other pain.
B. Scars can never be regarded as personal signature.
C. We should challenge difficulty and face fear bravely.
D. Parents should set a good example for their children.
C
Perfectionism is a culturally accepted and even desired ideal. We want our children to be perfectly adjusted. We wish our bodies were perfectly shaped. We want to find the ideal soul mate. We expect our athletes in the Olympics to perform perfectly. We want our minds to be absolutely still— at least when we choose so.
There is very little room for failure in our goal-driven society. And while there is nothing wrong with trying to give the best we can, wanting to be perfect is an endeavor that is bound to fail. In fact, it lies at the heart of much of the anxiety and depression we encounters every day. Children and teenagers crack under the expectations of overly ambitious parents, who want to force them to fulfill their own un-achieved dreams. Marriages fall apart under the stress of romantic ideals and ever-increasing pressures. Professionals, athletes and soldiers do their best to live up to what others have put upon to them every day, and unavoidably have to accept their limitations
One example is the news about Jonah Lehrer, a young and brilliant science writer who was criticized for making up quotes for his highly readable articles. Lehrer broke into the writing profession at 26, published a best-seller two years later, and was quickly seen as a boy genius. The media machinery of initial admiration which later turned into scorn(轻蔑) and schadenfreude(幸灾乐祸) made a loser out of this talented young man.
We can observe the cycle of high expectations leading to failure and shame practically every day in the media: actors and musicians fallen from grace, politicians making unrealistic promises and quickly being ridiculed for it, and companies promising never-ending beauty and health that won't happen.
We all like a winner and a star. However, no one can live up to never-ending success and glory. What goes up must come down. What turns out to be flawless(无瑕疵的)the first time will unavoidably lose out another time. It's time to accept that we are human. Nobody is perfect. It would spare us a lot of pain.
28. What do we know about our present society?
A. Some people are motivated by their ambitions.
B. Anxiety and depression make people stronger.
C. Couples are likely to part for un-achieved dreams.
D. Seeking to be perfect is beneficial to people.
29. What was responsible for Jonah Lehrer’s becoming a loser in the end?
A. Feeling proud for his best-selling book. B. Cheating in a writing competition.
C. Too much criticism from his readers. D. Media's inappropriate response to him.
30. What will happen to a politician if his promise doesn't sound realistic?
A. He will feel ashamed. B. He will be fined.
C. He will be laughed at. D. He will be accused.
31. What is the purpose of this passage?
A. To tell us to accept what we are.
B. To inform us of how to be perfect in life.
C. To criticize those who are unrealistic.
D To introduce the way to go through painful life.
D
United States health officials are urging people to stop using electronic cigarettes, known as e-cigarettes. The call to action came after such products were linked to health problems. Five deaths have also been reported. E-cigarettes are a popular substitute for smoking products. The electronic devices heat liquid that includes flavoring, nicotine and other chemicals into vapor— very small particles that users breathe in. Nicotine is found in many plants, including tobacco. E-cigarettes or similar devices also can provide THC or other substances to users. THC is the natural chemical present in marijuana(大麻) plants that gives users the mental state known as a “high”.
E-cigarettes are said to be safer than normal cigarettes because they do not create the cancer-
causing byproducts of burning tobacco. Yet health officials say e-cigarette users have reported shortness of breath and other breathing problems, such as coughing and chest pain. Some have been sick to the stomach, felt very tired, suffered weight loss or developed high body temperatures. One report noted that most of the 53 illnesses reported in Illinois and Wisconsin were related to THC vaping (气化) products. But nearly 20 percent of the patients inhaled (吸入) substances like nicotine from e-cigarettes. Most of the reported cases were of young men.
The report found that, “Since no single product or substance has been associated with the illness, persons should consider not using e-cigarettes while this investigation is ongoing.” Last November, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, or CDC, reported that “e-cigarette use increased considerably among U. S. middle and high school students during 2017-2018.” Among high school students, it found e-cigarette use rose from 220, 000 students in 2011 to 3. 05 million in 2018.
On Monday, the Food and Drug Administration, or FDA gave a warning to JUUL Labs, maker of the best- selling e-cigarettes. The FDA accused the company of illegally marketing its products as being “safer than cigarettes” without the agency’s approval. In a statement, the FDA'S acting commissioner said that, “JUUL has ignored the law, and has made some of these statements in school to our nation’s youth.” A JUUL spokesman said the company is studying the FDA'S comments and “will fully cooperate”.
32. Which of the following can best describe e-cigarettes?
A. Effective. B. Harmless. C. Infectious. D. Deadly.
33. What change will be caused when smokers inhale e-cigarettes containing THC?
A. They will be healthier. B. They will feel excited.
C. They will lose weight. D. They will be peaceful
34. What information about JUUL Labs can we get from the last paragraph?
A. FDA didn't agree on its way of promoting its products.
B. Students became its main marketing targets.
C. It completely denied what it was accused of.
D. E-cigarettes were invented by it.
35. What can be the best title of the passage?
A. Say “No” to cigarettes
B. A sharp rise of e-cigarettes use among young people
C. E-cigarettes —a potential killer
D. Safer e-cigarettes are needed for health
第二节 (共5小题,每小题2分,满分10分)
根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项,选项中有两项为多余选项。
Everybody who has dealt with any minor amount of stress has had the fantasy of packing up and running away from all of their problems, disappearing from the modern world almost entirely.
36 But he has done much further than that—and much more selfish. He has created what he calls “The Blockade”, a nearly total media blackout(封锁) that has allowed him to stay 100 percent ignorant of the day’s news outside of the weather, local real estate listings, and how the Cleveland Cavaliers are doing.
He doesn’t know about the chaos of Trump’s White House. He doesn’t know about the white supremacists(至上主义者) and neo-Nazis that marched in Charlottesville. 37 He doesn’t know who won out at the Oscars. Not only does he not look at newspapers and listen to white noise when he hangs out at a local café, but he also asks his mom not to talk about current events when they chat on the phone.
Hagerman’s Blockade means he doesn’t have to worry about the problems of his fellow citizens, his neighbors, or even some of his family members. 38 Of course not, because he can afford to have a financial adviser managing all of his investments. As a white male who has the opportunity to make (and save) a lot of money, he isn’t directly affected by many of the things that happen inside his country and to his fellow citizens.
It’s OK to tune out every once in a while and unplug or maybe take a break from Twitter for a week. 39 If everyone did what Hagerman did, there would be no United States. There would be no democracy. There would be no forward progress or people helping others in times of need. 40 “The first several months of this thing, I didn’t feel all that great about it,” said he.
A. Erik Hagerman has just done that.
B. Erik Hagerman is really selfish.
C. In fact, Hagerman also feels guilty sometimes.
D. However, opting out of the larger world completely does more harm than good.
E. Doesn’t he have any friends?
F. He doesn’t know about a school shooting.
G. Is he worried about his own money?

阅读下面短文,从短文后各题所给的四个选项(A、B、C和 D)中,选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。
“Tear them apart!” “Kill the fool!” “Murder the referee!”
These are common 41 we may hear at various sporting events. At the time they are made, they may seem innocent enough. But let’s not 42 ourselves. They have been known to 43 behavior in such a way as to lead to real violence. Actually, 44 with certain meanings may cause us to react in ways quite 45 our usual humanistic (人文主义的,人道主义的) behavior, which is characterized by care and 46 . I see “opponent(对手)” as one of those words. Perhaps the time has come to 47 it from sports terms.
The dictionary meaning of the term “opponent” is “one who opposes your interests”. 48 , a player may tend to treat his opponent as a(n) 49 and whatever rude behavior may be considered reasonable. I remember an incident in a handball game when a referee 50 a payer’s request for a time out for a glove 51 because he did not consider them wet enough. The player started to 52 his gloves across his 53 T-shirt and then shouted, “Are they wet enough now?” I have also 54 a player react to his opponent’s illegal blocking by 55 hitting him with the ball as hard as he could. 56 the court, they are good friends. Does that make any sense? It certainly gives proof of a court attitude which differs from 57 behavior.
Therefore, I believe it is time that civilized play should be brought back to the 58 world. 59 the term “opponent” with “associate” could be a(n) 60 way to start, since it is defined as “colleague”, “friend” or “companion” .
41. A. concepts B. remarks C. theories D. prayers
42. A. kid B. bother C. amuse D. hurt
43. A. evaluate B. influence C. benefit D. prevent
44. A. behaviour B. articles C. words D. sports
45. A. typical of B. concerned with C. aware of D. different from
46. A. humor B. respect C. request D. purity
47. A. delete B. expand C. deliver D. recognize
48. A. Again B. Yet C. Somehow D. Therefore
49. A. enemy B. instructor C. friend D. coach
50. A. ensured B. confirmed C. refused D. persuaded

In order to keep the Chinese traditional culture alive, we held the Chinese Character Dictation Competition in our school on last Saturday. Lucky, I was selected to take part in an activity on behalf of my classmates. Some of my classmates helped me review many Chinese characters aren’t commonly used today, while others reminded me of unfamiliar one whenever they were free. My head teacher also encouraged us to try my best. During the competition, I manage to answer all the questions giving by the judges because I had made great efforts for it. When I got the first place, I came to realize that it was my classmates’ kind help or my head teacher’s encouragement which contributed to my success.

Dear Sir / Madam,
I am an exchange student from China. I've learned from the Internet that you are in need of some volunteers. I am writing to recommend myself.
I have the following advantages: First of all, I am fond of animals and my father is a biology teacher, so I have a good knowledge on how to take care of animals. Second, I don't have classes at weekends, which allows me to have a lot of spare time. More importantly, I have made up my mind to become a vet when I grow up. That is why I'd like to spend more time with animals.
Please give me a chance. Looking forward to your early reply.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

Text 1
M: I can’t believe I packed everything except my most important travel document-the passport! (1)
W: It’s like you do this kind of thing on purpose. Do you remember when we went to Hawaii and you forgot your swimsuit?
Text 2
W: Hi, Harry. You’ve been traveling recently. When did you come back to China?
M: I just came back from France this morning. (2) I stayed there for half a month. But before that, I traveled around Italy for 10 days.
Text 3
W: Our moms look so similar in their family photos. They could be twins.
M: Sisters tend to look alike. (3)I don’ t look anything like my brother.
Text 4
M: My name is John Perkins. My address is 2700 Maine Street and the post office box number is 12430. You can reach me through mail.
W: Great. Can you just tell me how I write your street name? (4)
Text 5
M: Did you hear about that guy on the news? Apparently, he ran two red lights and crashed into a supermarket. (5)
W: Luckily, the police caught up with him and took him to the station for drunk driving. He could have killed someone!
Text6(第6题为总结题)
W: Tom, do you read books in your spare time?
M: Yes, I enjoy reading after work. Last week. I read an English novel called Cold Mountain. It was a very touching book.
W: Oh, I’ve heard of that. Has it been adapted into a film? I saw a film called Cold Mountain where my favorite female actress Nicole Kidman played the lead role. (7) The story took place during the Civil War in America.
M: Yes, indeed. Recently, I’ve been reading another classic novel called Gone with the Wind, a historical romance set in northern Georgia during the Civil War. Both stories took place during the Civil War, and I can't wait to read more books from this romantic age.
W: You sure are interested in fiction!
Text 7
M: I love all the colors you used, Madeleine. (8)
W: Thank you, Mr Cooper! I tried to make my own colors based on what you taught us in class yesterday. (8) It wasn’t easy, though. Sometimes I added too much of one kind of paint or not enough of another kind.
M: Is that right?
W: Yes, can you see it here? I wanted to make purple, but I didn't use quite enough biue. It turned out just kind of gray and boring.
M: Well, I think it turned out great anyway! This is part of the fun of painting -- discovering what you can do with a little imagination, taking some risks, and trying to do new things. (9)
W: Thanks for the encouragement.
M: Sometimes the most beautiful things result from artistic accidents. And Id say the same is true of almost all interesting things. So don’ t be afraid of trying new things.
Text8(第10题为推断题)
W: What’s so funny, dear?
M: Look here! There are some strict driving laws in different countries.
W: Really? Tell me.
M: In Thailand, male and female drivers are required to keep their shirts on while driving, no matter how hot it might be.
W: Interesting.
M: In Moscow, if your car is dirty enough on the outside or inside, you can get fined up to S55. Also, it is illegal to clean your car anywhere other than outside your home or at a car wash.
W: Well, that's good news for car washes!
M: In New Jersey in America, you can get fined between $250 and $1000 for putting a pet in your lap while driving. (11)
W: Hmm... that’s for the safety of both the driver and the pet.
M: In Japan, making a pedestrian dirty with water while driving is illegal. Apparently, this law is highly necessary during the month of June, when typhoons tend to leave a lot of water on the roadways.
W: All those rules make sense. I think they ll help drivers improve their behavior. (12)
Text 9
W: What's wrong, Jack? (13) You're walking funny

W: Of course! But how are you going to do those fighting moves with that hurt foot?
M: We’ll have to film the scenes with a lot of talking and less action, until my foot gets better. I'm sure it will be fine in a day or two. It’s not broken.
W: Why don’t you use an actor that looks like you--what they call a “double”?(15)
M: I never use a double! I do all my own acting --even the dangerous stuff. (15)Now, will you please go get that walking stick for me?( 16)
W: Right away, Jack! I’ll be back before you can beat up he next bad guy!

It’s combined with the living room, so the space feels more open. That’s the feeling you get throughout the house, in fact. As you can see, the house is full of light from all of the windows. It’ll make you feel healthy and happy. Here’s the kitchen. Lots of counter space. lots of storage space, a new refrigerator and a dishwasher...(19) I think a lot of people would appreciate this kitchen, and I know you two love to cook! I'll show you the two bedrooms up on the second floor in a minute, (20) but let’s step outside first. Isn’t this a beautiful backyard? Not too big and not too small. There are a few trees with plenty of space for gardening. In my opinion, this house is cozy enough for two people but large enough to raise a family in. Any questions so far?

A. October. B. July. C. December. D. April.

41. A. concepts B. remarks C. theories D. prayers
42. A. kid B. bother C. amuse D. hurt
43. A. evaluate B. influence C. benefit D. prevent

Look at this big living room with a tall ceiling. Can you imagine entertaining guests in here? You could host an amazing party in this room. Now, let’s move on to the dining room.
