Yu may have never heard f my favurite athlete, Eric Mussambani, the first Olympic swimmer frm Equatrial Guinea.Eric swam in the 100-metre freestyle at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.Hwever, he had just begun swimming nly eight mnths befre the Games! The nlyswimming pl fr him was a htel pl abut 13 metres lng, and even then
he culd nly use it fr an hur every mrning. In fact, the first time he ever saw an Olympic-sized 50-metre swimming pl was at the Olympics.During his race, he swam well fr the first 50 metres, but the last 15 metres f the race were especially difficult fr him. In fact, it lked like he was ging t drwn! But he tried hard and finished the race, winning lud cheers frm the crwd.
Thugh Eric Mussambani is nt an Olympic medal winner, he is still my favurite athlete. He never gave up n matter hw hard it was. With hard wrk and practice, Eric later became quite fast at the 100 metres. His time fr the 100-metre event imprved frm 1 minute 52 secnds, his Olympic recrd, t under 57 secnds! He later became the cach f the natinal swimming team fr Equatrial Guinea, and he is a true example f the Olympic spirit.

I admire him because he dares t challenge himself and never stps chasing his dream.
