Cultural heritage is the symbl f ur shared human histry, including artifacts, traditins, languages, and knwledge that have been passed dwn thrugh generatins. Preserving and safeguarding cultural heritage has always been a critical missin. In the digital era, the missin has becme a vital cncern. Digitizatin f cultural cntent, such as museum cllectins r libraries, digital bradcasting f artistic perfrmances, r digital brn art and heritage are happening at a fast pace.
While experiencing remarkable grwth, the digital transfrmatin presents unique challenges, such as the cncerns abut the cases where digital files may becme unreadable r unusable due t utdated frmats r hardware. Hwever, this is nt the biggest issue we encunter. The emergence f new digital cultural cntent has highlighted the limitatins f existing intellectual prperty rights (IPR) systems in effectively handling the challenges psed by the digital era.
In Eurpe, fr instance, with the bming develpment f the digital gaming industry, sme culture-related cases have raised specific IPR questins. Experts wnder if user-generated cntent frm. digital games creates new . The game itself is mst ften prtected by cpyright, but user-generated cntent, such as avatars (虚拟角色) created by players, is nt necessarily cvered by existing cpyright laws. Anther example is the inking culture f tatting. In UK laws, an riginal tatt is cpyrightable wrk; hwever, it seems nt t be the case fr AI-generated tatts. Bth cases may lead t debates ver wnership. As a result, museums ften avid sharing cllectins nline due t a “chilling effect”— the fear f facing legal prblems, like being respnsible fr breaking cpyright laws, cntract laws, r data prtectin rules.
Cultural heritage preservatin lies in striking a delicate balance between cnservatin f the past and transitin t the future. The rapid advancements in technlgy ffer exciting pprtunities fr digitizing, dcumenting, and preserving cultural heritage, prviding brader access and immersive (沉浸式) experiences fr glbal audiences, present and future. Furthermre, in the face f climate change, prtecting cultural heritage becmes urgent as the wrld faces increasingly severe envirnmental challenges. Rising sea levels, extreme weather events, and temperature fluctuatins threaten t destry cultural artifacts and heritage sites. Since digital cpies can serve as disaster backups (备份) t address climate-related damage, prtecting cultural sites frm climate change ges hand in hand with safeguarding heritage’s digital cpies.
All f these call fr a balance between innvatin and the preservatin f cultural heritage’s authenticity and integrity, which necessitates respect fr the variety f s, management f rights and authrizatins, and clear usage and access plicies. Only by tackling the cmplex challenges psed by digitizatin can we ensure technlgy enriches rather than endangers ur shared histry.
8.What is the biggest challenge digitizatin pses t cultural heritage prtectin?
      A. The misinterpretatin f the digital transfrmatin.
      B. The ptential failure f digital culture’s lng-term sustainability.
      C. The difficulty in cnnecting culture digitizatin t cultural integrity.
      D. The insufficiency f intellectual prperty plicies fr digital culture.

      C. Libraries restrict access t digital bks n culture relics.
      D. Schls ffer less cultural heritage-related curses.
10.What des Paragraph 4 mainly talk abut?

In a wrld f music streaming services, access t almst any sng is just a few clicks away. Yet, the live perfrmance lives n. Peple still fill sweaty basements, muddy fields and gilded cncert halls t hear their favrite musicians play. And nw neurscientists might knw why — live music engages the brain’s emtin centers mre than its recrded cunterpart.
Cncerts are immersive scial experiences in which peple listen t and feel the music tgether thrugh crescends, key changes and rhythmic drps. Mrever, they are dynamic — artists can adapt their playing accrding t the crwd’s reactin.
It was this last difference that led neurscientists, based at the Universities f Zurich and Osl, t study the brain respnses f peple listening t music. In the “live” experiment, participants lay in an MRI scanner listening t the music thrugh earphnes, while a pianist was psitined utside the rm. The pianist was shwn the participant’s real-time brain activity as a frm f feedback. In the recrded cnditin, participants listened t pre-recrded versins f the same tunes.
The scientists were interested in hw live music affected the areas f the brain respnsible fr prcessing emtins, particularly the amygdala, an area deep inside the brain. The results, just published in the jurnal PNAS, revealed that live music had a significantly greater emtinal impact. Whether the music cnveyed happiness r sadness, dynamic live perfrmances led t increased activity nt nly in the amygdala but als ther parts f the brain’s emtin prcessing netwrk. The researchers als fund that participants’ brain activity tracked the acustic (声学的) features f the music, like temp and pitch, far mre clsely when it was played live.
While the study didn’t fully recreate the live cncert experience, the findings suggest that artists’ ability t adjust their perfrmance in real time cntributes t the emtinal resnance (共鸣) f live music. Sme musical acts nw attempt t recreate live cncerts, such as ABBA Vyage, an immersive pre-recrded VR cncert, but withut artists’ capacity t read audience’s md and respnd accrdingly, it will never quite match the real thing.
12.Why d peple chse live shws ver streaming music?
      A. T enjy the unique live atmsphere.
      B. T meet favrite musicians in persn.
      C. T escape the bredm f recrded music.
      D. T acquire a strnger emtinal cnnectin.
13.What did the PNAS study find abut live music?
      A. It affected nly the amygdala f the brain.
      B. It generated intense brain respnses t sund elements.
      C. It had a weaker emtinal effect than pre-recrded music.
      D. It strengthened emtins mre in sad tunes than happy nes.
14.What can be a suitable title fr the text?
      A. Hw Music Cnsumptin Evlved in the Digital Age
      B. Why Yur Brain Prefers Live Cncerts t Streaming Sngs
      C. Live Music vs. Recrded Music: A Neurscientific Perspective
      D. ABBA Vyage: Redefining the Future f Virtual Cncert Experiences

There’s quite a bit f debate n the effectiveness f having music n while yu study.

      六、阅读表达:本大题共1小题,共10分。
32.Mst research supprts the idea that music's main benefit fr students is the uplift f md and thus f abilities t cncentrate n tasks and study fr lnger perids f time.
What kind f music are we talking abut then? Sme Drake? Bach? SpngeBb? What's the magic sng? Again, cmplicated(复杂). Yu want smething that's ging t drp yu right int that sweet spt f what is called medium arusal; a playlist that's t bring might make yu sleepy, while a sng that's t exciting might make it harder fr yu t fcus. Sngs with 60-70 beats per minute have been suggested t be gd fr keeping infrmatin. Beethven's Fr Elise is an example. Listening t Mzart has als been shwn in studies t imprve the prductivity f its listeners.
There's quite a bit f cntrversy n the effectiveness f having music n while yu study, even music that puts yu in the right md. A study cnducted by the University f Wales fund that students cnsistently perfrmed wrse n tests when expsed bth t music that they liked and music they didn't like, meaning that listening t music, regardless f hw it made the students feel, was fund t be just as distracting as a persn talking t yu while yu're wrking.
That same study als fund that alng with a cmpletely quiet envirnment, students als perfrmed best when they were played repetitive sunds r sunds f nature.
Anther similar study, hwever, fund that while average perfrmance was lwer fr the music-listening grup, the variatin in individual scres suggests that the effects f the music vary a lt frm persn t persn, and hence why it's difficult t definitely say whether music helps r hurts.
There seems t be agreement n ne thing at least, which is that music with lyrics (歌词) definitely is a n-g. Prcessing lyrics means there's n rm in the language prcessing part f yur brain t wrk n ther tasks, especially when this invlves reading r writing. The brain, actually, desn't have the ability t multitask at all. What yu think is multitasking is actually just yur pr ld ndle rapidly switching between everything, but cncentrating n nthing. Sad!
      (1) What kind f sngs can be gd fr keeping infrmatin? __________________________________________________________________________________________
      (2) Why is listening t music with lyrics nt helpful fr study? __________________________________________________________________________________________
      (3) Please decide which part is false in the fllwing statement, then underline it and explain why.
▶The study cnducted by the University f Wales fund that students perfrmed best when they were expsed t music.
