It is a landmark achievement in plar explratin. China's first Antarctic research base, the Great Wall Statin, was funded n King Gerge Island in 1985, marking China's fficial start f Antarctic scientific research.
It was accmplished by the Chinese Antarctic Expeditin Team led by Gu Kun. Hundreds f scientists, engineers and supprt staff vercame harsh plar cnditins t build the statin.

China's Great Wall Statin: A MilestneChina's Great Wall Statin is an imprtant achievement in plar explratin. It was built n King Gerge Island and pened in 1985.
