In a narrw alley near Beijing’s Drum Twer, 72-year-ld Wang Shufen tuches a tablet screen, her trembling fingers revealing a 3D image f her childhd hme——a curtyard huse trn dwn in the 1990s, nw revived using artificial intelligence. “The pmegranate (石榴) tree... even the cracks in the bricks are the same,” she whispers. This reunin is part f the “Hutng Memry Prject”, a grundbreaking cllabratin between Tsinghua University and the Beijing Municipal Archives.
Launched in 2021, the prject addresses the lss f Beijing’s traditinal alleyway cmmunities. Over 60% f Hutngs have disappeared since 1949, with nly 1,010 remaining. Using machine learning, researchers analyzed 50,000 histrical phts, 800 Ming-Qing land deeds, and ral histries frm elderly residents. The AI crss-references architectural patterns, weather data, and even shadws in ld phts t recnstruct vanished neighbrhds with 94% accuracy.
An AR app adds digital recnstructins nt mdern sites. Pint yur phne at a cnvenience stre, and it transfrms int a 1930s tea shp, cmplete with 3D images f actrs recreating histrical dialgues. “This isn’t nstalgia— it’s active heritage preservatin,” says Dr. Li Xiayu, the prject leader. “Teenagers scanning QR cdes n Hutng walls aren't just seeing histry; they're stepping int it.”
Hwever, traditinalists argue that “digital Hutngs” lessen the urgency fr physical cnservatin. Heritage architect Zhang Wei ntes, “A digital system can’t make the same smell as jasmine tea steaming in winter curtyards.” Yet, supprters highlight benefits: VRturs have reduced turist vercrwding in delicate areas by 37%, and blckchain-certified digital Hutngs are used t train urban planners in 12 cuntries.
By 2025, the prject aims t create a “Time Capsule Library,” preserving AI mdels f 100 endangered cultural sites natinwide, frm Fujian Tulu t Shanghainese Shikumen. As Wang Shufen's grandsn practices Mandarin with a peddler (小贩) in the 1930s, it's clear that in China's race t mdernize, technlgy is becming memry’ s fiercest guardian.
      24. What is the main purpse f the “Hutng Memry Prject”?
      A. T attract mre turists t visit Beijing’s hutngs.
      B. T replace physical hutngs with digital replicas.
      C. T train urban planners in 12 cuntries t use blckchain.
      D. T preserve disappearing traditinal cmmunities thrugh technlgy.
      25. Hw des the AI recnstruct vanished hutngs?
      A. By using QR cdes scanned n mdern buildings.
      B. By interviewing elderly residents fr ral histries.
      C. By analyzing infrmatin f traditinal alleyway cmmunities.
D By teaching 3D actrs t perfrm histrical dialgues.
      26. Why des Zhang Wei criticize the digital prject?
      A. Digital mdels fail t ffer sensry experiences.
      B. Histrical data turns ut t be highly unreliable.
      C. VR turs have prved t be extremely expensive.
      D. Digital systems are unable t replace architects.
      27. What can we learn frm the last paragraph?
      A. The “Time Capsule Library” fcuses slely n Beijing’ s Hutngs.
      B. Technlgy is playing a crucial rle in preserving cultural heritage.
      C. Yung peple are lsing interest in traditinal Chinese architecture.
      D. AI mdels are mre effective than physical preservatin methds.
      C
Fr nearly a century, migratry flyways have been central t bird cnservatin, helping t prtect habitats and mnitr species. Hwever, migratry freshwater fish, which als undertake vast jurneys, have been largely verlked. Unlike birds, fish migratins ccur underwater, making them invisible and harder t study. Since 1970, migratry freshwater fish ppulatins have declined by ver 80% due t habitat destructin, verfishing, and pllutin.
T address this, researchers are mapping glbal swimways — migratin rutes fr freshwater fish — t guide cnservatin effrts. “Fish are the mst affected migratry species glbally,” says Twan Stffers, a fish eclgist. Dams are the biggest bstacle, blcking breeding and feeding habitats. While dam cnstructin has slwed in the U. S. and Eurpe, it has surged in Sutheast Asia, particularly in the Mekng River system, hme t ver 1,000 fish species and millins f livelihds. The Mekng giant catfish, fr example, faces extinctin due t dam barriers, thugh recent cnservatin effrts ffer hpe.
Glbally, nly ne-third f majr rivers remain free-flwing, mstly in remte regins like the Amazn. In Eurpe, rivers are s fragmented that identifying histrical swimways is nearly impssible. Hwever, restratin effrts, such as dam remvals n the Klamath River in the U. S., have shwn success, allwing salmn t return t breeding areas after a century.
The Glbal Swimways Initiative launched in 2023, aims t map migratin rutes fr all 2,400 migratry freshwater fish species. Instead f cstly tracking methds, researchers are analyzing existing data frm surces like Fish Base and the IUCN Red List. “I’ m shcked at hw many species we still knw little abut,” Stffers ntes, highlighting the need fr better tracking technlgy.
Rivers are cmplex systems, cnnecting t fldplains and changing seasnally. “Fish mve between habitats under specific cnditins,” says Zeb Hgan, a fish bilgist. The Amazn Basin illustrates this cmplexity, with its flded frests and wetlands serving as critical habitats. Many rivers span multiple cuntries, requiring internatinal cperatin t prtect migratin rutes.
Just as flyways transfrmed bird cnservatin, swimways culd transfrm river management. “Mapping these underwater highways is essential fr the survival f freshwater fish and the ecsystems they supprt,” Hgan emphasizes. By addressing fish migratin with the same attentin given t birds, we can better prtect these vital species and the cmmunities that depend n them.
      28. What des paragraph 2 mainly fcus n?
      A. The threat f dams in fish prtectin.
      B. The impact f pllutin n freshwater.
      C. The significance f building mre dams.
      D. The effrts made t restre the ecsystem.
      29. What des the underlined wrd “fragmented” in the 3rd paragraph prbably mean?
      A. pllutedB. prtectedC. dividedD. restred
      30. Which f the fllwing helps the Glbal Swimways Initiative map migratin rutes?
      A. Satellite tracking technlgy.
      B. Available infrmatin.
      C. Cmplexity f migratin rutes.
      D. The Amazn Basin.
      31. What can be inferred frm the last tw paragraphs?
      A. Seasnal changes greatly benefit fish migratin.
      B. Fish migratins are easier t track than bird migratins.
      C. Mapping swimways bsts river cnservatin cperatin.
      D. The Amazn Basin’s success inspires glbal fish cnservatin.

China’s tax authrities have recvered nearly 900 millin yuan ($124 millin) in unpaid taxes frm 169 nline influencers since 2024, highlighting intensified effrts t cmbat tax evasin (非法逃避纳税) in high-risk sectrs. The State Taxatin Administratin(STA) emphasized that cracking dwn n tax evasin prtects law-abiding taxpayers, particularly amid rapid grwth in the cuntry’s livestreaming industry. Tax evasin methds include cncealing cmmissin (佣金) earnings, making false declaratins and using shell cmpanies.
In 2023 China’s livestreaming sectr generated 209.5 billin yuan in incme, up 5.15% year-n-year, while the brader nline audivisual industry reached a market size f 1.22 trillin yuan by 2024. Hwever, high-prfile tax scandals, such as the 2021 case invlving tp influencer Viya (Huang Wei), wh evaded 640 millin yuan in taxes, have drawn public attentin. Viya was fined 1.34 billin yuan and banned frm livestreaming.
By 2025 China had ver 38 millin prfessinal livestreamers and 800 millin users. Streamers earn incme thrugh prduct placements, cmmissins, virtual gifts, and salaries. Under China’s tax laws, persnal incme exceeding 960,000 yuan annually is taxed at 45%, while sle traders face a lwer maximum rate f 35%.
Since 2024, authrities have expsed at least 10 livestreamers fr tax evasin. Fr example, Yu Chuan, an influencer, underreprted incme by using shell cmpanies and favrable tax schemes. She was rdered t repay 7.58 millin yuan in taxes, fees, and fines. Using shell cmpanies is a cmmn practice t reclassify persnal incme as business revenue.
Experts nte challenges in regulating influencers’ cmplex financial structures, as sme partner with platfrms and intermediaries t hide incme. Suthwestern University f Finance and Ecnmics prfessr Ha Xiawei cited incmplete tax infrmatin-sharing laws, limiting real-time data access frm platfrms.
T address flaws, regulatrs intrduced stricter rules in 2022, requiring platfrms t reprt streamers’ earnings every six mnths. As part f this year’s tax awareness campaign, authrities plan training sessins fr livestreamers, thugh details remain unclear.
These effrts reflect China’s brader push t ensure equitable taxatin and clse regulatry gaps in the bming digital ecnmy.
      32. What is a cmmn tax evasin methd mentined in the text?
      A. Masking prfits.B. Paying taxes n time.
      C. Using legal tax deductins.D. Declaring incme truthfully.
      33. Hw des China’s tax rate fr sle traders differ frm persnal incme tax?
      A. They share the same tax rates.
      B. The sle traders tax rate is higher.
      C. The persnal incme tax rate is flat.
      D. The persnal incme tax rate is higher.
      34. What can be inferred abut the use f shell cmpanies by livestreamers?
      A. They aim t increase penness in financial reprting.
      B. They help avid higher persnal incme tax rates.
      C. They are encuraged by tax authrities t simplify tax.
      D. They are a new trend unrelated t tax evasin.
      35. Which f the fllwing is the best title fr the passage?
      A. “Hw Online Influencers Avid Paying Taxes”
      B. “The Ecnmic Impact f Tax Evasin in China”
      C. “The Rise f China’s Livestreaming Industry”
      D. “Tightens Tax Rules fr Online Influencers”
      第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
