When my husband Mark brught Alexa hme, I didn't like the idea f her little twer sitting n an end table in the
living rm. I was sure she was listening t ur cnversatins.
As time passed, I gt used t Alexa living in ur hme. As Princess Diana said, there were three f us in this
marriage. My husband bught anther twer and then a mini-Alexa called the Ech Dt. Nw Alexa wuld be in the
      kitchen and the bedrm t.
I saw hw cnvenient it was when Mark was barbecuing meat and he'd ask Alexa t set a timer. Perhaps I culd d
that when I beat egg whites fr a kind f cake? In the bedrm, Mark asked her t set an alarm fr him t get up fr
wrk. A handy backup. If Alexa reminded me t take my medicine, I'd never miss a pill. We didn't have a spy amng us,
after all. Alexa was a helper, and I gradually welcmed her as part f ur family.
Smetimes I'd play with Alexa t see what she was capable f. She knew hw t spell wrds that I always gt
wrng, like“phthalmlgist”. She’ d answer quickly and accurately. But I wasn't ready fr what Alexa did ne night.
Her vice wke me frm my dream.“The current weather is sixty degrees Fahrenheit with mstly cludy skies,” she said,
nt whispering at all. I pened my eyes in the dark bedrm.“Huh?” I asked, cnfused. Was Alexa malfunctining?
      “Tday's frecast has thunderstrms,” she cntinued,“with a high f seventy-nine degrees and a lw f fifty-six.” What
had just happened? It tk me a minute t realize that I must have talked in my sleep.Apparently, Alexa existed in
dreamland t, at least in my head. I wasn't entirely sure if I had asked her“What's the weather?” in my dream. The real
Alexa heard me talking ut lud in my sleep, and her answer wke me up!

There are many methds t critique (评判) art but my current favrite is the“See, Think, Wnder” methd. Here's
      what it is.
The first step is See. Start by describing nly what yu can bserve directly in the artwrk. This step is all abut
bjective bservatin ——— n interpretatin. Examples f this step culd include statements like“There is a
wman and a yung girl. The sky is dark. There are a lt f thick lines”.
Step 2 is Think. Nw, students mve frm bserving t interpreting. Have them use what they saw in the‘see’step
t frm questins r ideas abut the artwrk's meaning r message. Examples culd include“I think the wman and
yung girl are mther and daughter. I think the dark sky represents sadness”.
The last step is Wnder. Have students think abut what the artwrk makes them curius abut. These will be
pen-ended questins that there prbably will nt be answers fr. Examples f this step culd include“I wnder why
they lk sad. I wnder why they are utside”.
After critiquing the artwrk using“See, Think, Wnder”, I like t prvide my students with sme backgrund n the
artist. I read a shrt bigraphy abut the artist including infrmatin abut where they were brn, their style r genre
they are assciated with r any infrmatin abut their art jurney. I like t d this step after the first three steps s that
students are answering the first prmpts (提示) with n infrmatin ther than lking at the artwrk. Then I ask the
students t reflect n the infrmatin they just learned and ask them if it makes them“think” r“wnder” anything else
      abut the artwrk.
      28. What is the main task in the“See” step?
      A. T cmpare different artwrks. B. T express persnal feelings.
      C. T describe bservable facts. D. T research the artist's life.
      29. Which f the fllwing is an example f the“Think” step?
A.“The rm is messy.” B.“Culd the artist be lnely?”
C.“The clrs are mstly blue.” D.“The messy rm shws a trubled mind.”
      30. Why is the bigraphy given last?
      A. T make the activity shrter. B. T keep first impressins pure.
      C. T prve its insignificance. D. T test prir knwledge.
      31. Hw des the writer rganize the text?
      A. By explaining a prcess and then adding a fllw-up step.
      B. By cmparing methds and then drawing a cnclusin.
      C. By stating an idea and then prviding supprting examples.
      D. By presenting a prblem and then suggesting a slutin.
      D
In an era dminated by screens, the very definitin f“nature” is being cntested. As cities expand and digital
immersin(沉浸) deepens, a new cncept is gaining appeal: the digital park. These are nt virtual replacements fr
natural spaces, but hybrid envirnments that use technlgy t enhance, rather than replace, the natural experience.
Prpnents argue that digital parks can make nature mre accessible and engaging. Interactive displays can identify
plants and animals in real-time, while augmented reality tracks can verlay histrical r eclgical infrmatin nt a
physical landscape. Fr a generatin raised n smartphnes, this digital layer can lwer the barrier t entry, transfrming
a walk in the park frm a passive activity int an interactive discvery. It is a bridge, they claim, cnnecting the digital
native t the ancient rhythms f the natural wrld.
Hwever, critics vice a deep cncern. They warn that the“indirect” experience f nature risks devaluing the raw,
unplanned encunter. When every plant cmes with a pp-up fact file and every bird call is instantly identified, des the
sense f awe (敬畏) and mystery decrease? The primary value f nature has lng been its ability t quiet the human
mind, t encurage bservatin withut an agenda. By inserting a digital interface, we risk replacing wnder with
infrmatin, and slitude (幽静) with digital distractin.
The debate tuches upn a fundamental questin: What is the purpse f ur engagement with nature in the21st
century? Is it primarily fr educatin and entertainment, gals well-served by technlgy? Or is it fr the pursuit f a
different state f being —— ne f reflectin, mdesty, and direct sensry cnnectin with a wrld that des nt center
arund us? The answer may nt be an abslute rejectin f technlgy, but a cnscius and careful applicatin. The gal
shuld be t design digital parks that ultimately turn ur attentin away frm the screen and tward the living, breathing
envirnment, using technlgy as a delicate guide rather than a dminant cre pint.
      32. What des the wrd“prpnents” in paragraph 2 mst prbably mean?
      A. Designers. B. Supprters. C. Visitrs. D. Critics.
      33. What is the main cncern f critics abut digital parks?
      A. They may weaken the real nature experience.
      B. They are t expensive t build fr the public.
      C. They are nt attractive t the yunger generatin.
      D. They can't prvide accurate natural infrmatin.
      34. What is the authr's suggested apprach t technlgy in digital parks?
      A. T use it as the main attractin. B. T fcus nly n educatinal purpses.
      C. T avid using it in natural spaces. D. T apply it carefully and purpsefully.
      35. Which f the fllwing is the best title fr the text?
      A. The Rise f Digital Parks B. Screen Time and Green Spaces
      C. Nature in the Digital Age D. Technlgy in Outdr Learning

It's mving frward even when yu' re terrified.”
