7 One mrning, while inspecting, the merchant fund sme gds were lst. 8 When enquired, Betty denied straight away that she was the burglar. 9 But he discunted her wrds and insulted her with irnic wrds. 10 The fact was twisted. 11 Betty declined t make any cncessin against her will. 12 Her explicit cntradictin helped her win ther staffs’ apprval. 13 At length, they reached a cnsensus that the merchant shuld admit his fault.
