A refrestatin revlutin is being led by the innvative use f autnmus drnes, a practice that balances deep respect fr nature with cutting - edge technlgy. These drnes, which wrk with high precisin, are particularly effective in restring large areas f frests damaged by wildfires and heavy lgging. Reprts shw they can plant trees up t ten times faster than traditinal methds, greatly bsting sustainability.
The cre f this technlgy lies in the cmbinatin f AI and LiDAR (Light Detectin and Ranging) remte sensing. The drnes use LiDAR t scan damaged areas and measure the distance between the sensr and the grund. This system assesses key envirnmental factrs such as sil cmpsitin, misture levels and terrain cnturs, as well as ptential risks like ersin and flding. Then, nbard AI analyzes all these details carefully t precisely determine the best spts fr planting native seeds.
Each drne carries hundreds f bidegradable capsules. These capsules cntain nt nly seeds but als nutrients and fungi, which help the rts thrive in harsh cnditins. After identifying ideal areas, the drnes fire the capsules int the sil, cvering an area as large as a sccer field in less than an hur. The fungi in the capsules enrich the sil, attracting insects and animals that enable frests t thrive. This effect is als crucial fr carbn sequestratin, which is the prcess f capturing and string carbn dixide t prevent it frm warming the planet, and is an imprtant part f the strategy against climate change.
Initial trials in wildfire - hit Kumamt have achieved remarkable success, with an 80% germinatin (萌芽) rate, much higher than the 30 - 50% f manual methds. This success has drawn internatinal attentin: the US and the UK have adpted similar AI - led drnes fr refrestatin in hard - t - access areas, shwing great glbal prmtin ptential.
Despite the achievements, challenges remain. Scaling up the prject requires huge investment and may face hurdles like airspace restrictins. Additinally, the technlgy
needs t adapt t diverse ecsystems with varying sil and climate. Hwever, these drnes bring bright prspects fr glbal sustainability, with ptential applicatins in restring bidiversity, rehabilitating cral reefs and reversing desertificatin, playing a psitive rle in glbal eclgical prtectin.

Over the last 1, 400 years, ppulatins f the Yangtze finless prpise have dramatically declined in China. But intensive surveys f its range nly span the last cuple f decades, leaving lts f gaps in scientists' knwledge f the species. In a creative blend f art and science, a new study uses histrical petry t chart the critically endangered animal's ppulatin acrss the river it calls hme.
The finless prpises nce lived thrughut the entire Yangtze River, which stretches frm the Tibetan Plateau t the East China Sea. Nw, the nly knwn freshwater prpise in the wrld has fewer than 1, 800 individuals left in the wild.
The research team cmbed thrugh databases f Chinese petry t find references t the prpise and map its past distributin. They fund 724 pems that mentined the animal, f which half nted where the prpises were bserved. Their findings were published in Current Bilgy.
"Having access t past data allws us t detect when declines began and crrelate thse changes with ptential threats like habitat destructin, climate change, verhunting, disease r the intrductin f invasive species," says lead authr Zhang Yaya, an eclgist at the Chinese Academy f Sciences.
The pems suggest the prpise's range has decreased by 65% since the Tang dynasty. Mst f that decline happened in the river's tributaries and lakes, where the animal's range has decreased by 91%. While the ppulatin decrease was mstly gradual, the sharpest decline has ccurred ver the past 100 years. That sudden drp aligns with human activities n the river, especially dam cnstructin in the 1950s that blcked ff the prpise's mvement t and frm the river's main channel.
The wrk highlights the cnnectin between culture and science. "Pems are actually ancient citizen science, and many Chinese pets were 'well - educated intellectuals'," says Zhang. "These data are nt But they d have a lt f infrmatin if yu use them crrectly." This apprach has ptential fr uncvering the pasts f ther endangered species as well. Previusly, schlars have used medieval and ancient texts t understand things like vlcanic eruptins, aurras and unusual whales.
      32. What challenge d scientists face in their research abut the prpise?
      A. Its ppulatin has drpped ff dramatically.
      B. Lcating its habitats is increasingly difficult.
      C. The lng - term histrical data is insufficient.
      D. Its ppulatin is hard t calculate precisely.
      33. What mainly cntributed t the dramatic fall f the prpise's ppulatins?
      A. Pr resistance t diseases.B. Climate changes ver time.
      C. Human impacts n its habitats.D. Cmpetitin with ther species.
      34. Why des the authr mentin "vlcanic eruptins" in the last paragraph?
      A. T shw majr threats t endangered wildlife.
      B. T intrduce challenges in eclgical research.
      C. T reveal the wisdm f ancient Chinese pets.
      D. T prve the value f ancient texts in research.

      第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
      根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
“Be psitive!” has becme a ppular mindset in recent years. 36 But what happens when we take psitivity t an extreme? Culd being blindly ptimistic lead t disappintment? While lking n the bright side is generally seen as a virtue, new research suggests that “txic psitivity” might actually harm ur mental health.
Txic psitivity ccurs when peple deny their real emtins and frce themselves t stay ptimistic. Gitanjali Trevrrw - Seymur, a prfessinal cach, explains that humans are naturally meant t experience a wide range f emtins, frm jy and gratitude t sadness and disappintment. “Nne f these emtins is meant t be cnstant,” she says. 37 Like many things in life, mental wellbeing is all abut balance.
The danger lies in labeling feelings as “gd” r “bad.” When we desperately avid “negative” emtins, we end up suppressing ur real feelings. This suppressin places extra stress n the bdy, which can eventually lead t anxiety r even physical illness. 38 If we nly shw ur “happy” selves, ur scial interactins can becme shallw and inauthentic.
39 When a friend is ging thrugh hard times, respnding with “Try t be psitive!” may be well - intentined, but it ften dismisses their feelings. Instead f feeling cmfrted, they may feel frced t put n a brave face, which is mentally exhausting. True supprt invlves acknwledging their pain rather than attempting t “fix” it immediately.
S, shuld we avid psitive affirmatins entirely? Nt necessarily. 40 The key is t accept all ur emtins—sadness, anger, and grief—instead f treating them as prblems t be slved. Only by embracing the full human experience can we truly achieve mental health.
      A. This issue als affects hw we supprt thers.
      B. Friends can greatly influence ur attitudes twards life.
      C. Even thse with a bright utlk can feel grief and glm.
      D. They can be useful tls if they feel genuine and grunded.
      E. What truly remains cnstant is a psitive mindset and inner peace.
      F. Mrever, frced psitivity ften rbs us f deep cnnectins with thers.
      G. Everyne strives t see the glass as half full and find the rainbw in every situatin.

She didn't scld me r tell me t try harder. Instead, she sat beside me and said, "Art isn't abut finishing quickly; it's abut seeing, feeling, and taking the time t make each strke 46 ." She picked up a clean brush and 47 hw t layer clrs gently, hw t let the paint dry between applicatins, and hw t let the artwrk evlve naturally.
