In Brazil, a cuntry knwn fr endless parties, the “winter” cntinues t be full f events that generally celebrate the crn harvest in the Nrtheast. The whle mnth f June is filled with blck parties, street parties, and even schl parties in hnr f the harvest. It is Festa Junina, r the June Festival.

As fr me, I tried t dance, but I had eaten s much hearty fd that I fund it hard t keep up with the rhythm (节奏). Still, it was great fun, and I’m glad t have had the chance t see hw Brazilians celebrate this time-hnred festival!

D dlphins and whales actually play tgether, r d the dlphins just avid the whales? Researchers tried t answer this questin by lking thrugh hundreds f phtgraphs and vide recrdings in a new study. The team examined 199 separate cases where whales and dlphins were bserved tgether. While mst f these events were taken frm scial media vides and images, tw f the interactins were recrded using cameras fixed nt tw humpback whales (座头鲸) in Australia.
The researchers spent time identifying which species were present in each interactin and where the behavirs tk place in relatin t the bdy f the whale, which was divided int head, bdy and tail. The whale and dlphin behavirs were gruped int different behavir types, including rlling and head and tail mvements fr the whales, and riding the waves, rlling n their stmachs, and jumping ut f the water fr the dlphins.

Fr the humpback whales in particular, arund a third f these interactins with dlphins are psitive, due t the whales’ behavir f rlling, shwing their bellies, and mving slwly in the directin f the dlphins. “Behaviral studies f marine (海洋的) animals such as these help us understand their cmplex scial structures, which play a key rle in imprving ur understanding f marine ecsystems and the interactins amng marine species,” said ne researcher.
      12. What did the study fcus n?
      A. The nature f whale-dlphin interactins.
      B. The general whale and dlphin behavirs.
      C. When whales and dlphins prefer t scialize.
      D. Where whale and dlphin species mstly meet.
      13. What did the team find abut whale-dlphin interactins?
      A. Dlphins always led the interactins.
      B. Bth species perfrmed matching behavirs.
      C. Whales shwed friendly behavir t dlphins.
      D. Physical cntact was the main frm f interactins.
      14. What can be learned frm Dr. Olaf Meynecke’s wrds?
      A. Interspecies cntact is quite cmmn.
      B. Nt all playful interactins are interactive.
      C. Dlphins are generally friendlier than whales.
      D. Whales and dlphins benefit frm playing tgether.
      15. Why was the researcher’s statement mentined in the last paragraph?
      A. T reprt new discveries in marine scial structures.
