I’m Dr. David Picken and I have ne f the clest jbs n and ff the earth. I’m a flight surgen, r an astrnaut dctr, at NASA Jhnsn Space Center, in Hustn, Texas.
Grwing up, I wanted t be a dctr. I als wanted t be a pilt. At a career fair in cllege, I saw a pster which was a persn climbing int an airplane. The pster said that this persn’s jb was t be a flight surgen. I thught, “Cl! I can be a dctr and I get t fly!”
After graduating frm a medical schl, I did six mnths f extra training t learn abut all the ways that flying can affect the human bdy. Different frces act differently n the bdy in the air than n the grund. They can affect the cncentratin (浓度) f xygen yu are breathing. This can affect hw well yur mind wrks. All f these things can change a pilt’s ability t safely fly the aircraft.
This is where the flight surgen cmes in. We take care f them when they get sick r injured. A flight surgen’s jb is t keep a pilt ding his r her jb: flying.
As a flight surgen, I als get a chance t fly. I get a firsthand understanding f all thse effects n the bdy, and that makes me better take care f my patients. And it’s fun t fly! That brings me t my new jb, as a flight surgen at NASA (美国宇航局), where I take care f astrnauts. In space, there are ther effects n the bdy, such as zer gravity. This firstly affects yur balance system, s it’s cmmn fr astrnauts t feel a little seasick in their first cuple f days. While astrnauts are in space, we watch and talk t them frm Missin Cntrl (任务控制中心) t help take care f their health. After they return t the earth, we lk after them and guide their recnditining. We als wrk with the engineers wh design spaceships. We’re part f a big team that gets astrnauts t space and hme safely.
It’s a pretty cl jb t help get smene ready t fly t space, take care f them while they’re ut there, and see them when they cme hme.
      24. Why des the writer want t be a flight surgen?

A recent study by Arber Tasimi, a graduate student at Yale University and Liane Yung, a prfessr at Bstn Cllege, fund that kids wh d gd and think back n it are driven t d mre and mre gd. As Tasimi says, “These findings shw that smething as simple as asking children t reflect (反思) n their past gd deeds (行为) has psitive effects n children’s behavir.”
T carry ut the study, the researchers recruited (招募) 225 children aged six t eight. They gave each child five stickers and divided them int different grups: Sme children recalled a time they were nice t smene (the nice grup); thers recalled a time they were mean (刻薄的) t smene r when smene was nice t them. As a cmparisn, anther grup f kids was asked abut a time they watched a mvie.
The researchers then shwed the children an image f a fictitius (假想的) character, Gary, wh had n stickers. Children were asked whether they wanted t give Gary any f their five stickers, and thse in the nice grup gave the mst stickers. In ther wrds, these children behaved mre generusly (慷慨地) cmpared t their peers in the ther grups.
“Recalling ne’s wn psitive behavirs—rather than recalling psitive behavirs mre generally—increases genersity in children,” the researchers cnclude.
As the researchers nte, after adults have perfrmed a number f gd deeds—thus accruing (积累) “mral credit”-they cut back n their genersity. Wuld children behave meanly after they recalled sme examples f their gdness?
T explre this pssibility, the researchers asked anther grup f children t remember three different times when they were nice t smene. They fund that these children behaved just as generusly as thse wh had recalled a single example f their past gdness; children, it seems, dn’t give ut gd deeds in a calculating (计算) way.
If parents want t raise kind children, this study suggests, they can reinfrce (强化) gd behavir by praising their children’s past kindnesses and ffering gentle reminders when they’re deciding whether t share.
In the future, Tasimi hpes t find ut ther factrs that lead children t d greater gd. He is especially interested in examining the rle f peer influence n children’s genersity. He says kids are prbably mre likely t cpy a classmate’s fashin chices than Dad’s. In ther wrds, children culd be psitive rle mdels fr each ther.
      27. The researchers divided the children int different grups t find ut _____.
      A. why they are mean t Gary.
      B. wh can recall their past kindnesses.
      C. hw t get the mst stickers.
      D. what can increase children’s genersity.
      28. Accrding t the writer, wh is prbably the mst generus?
      A. The by wh has gt help frm his neighbrs.
      B. The by wh has ever seen his parents’ past gdness.
      C. The by whse parents ften ask him t be nice t thers.
      D. The by whse parents ften tell stries abut his kind acts in the past.
      29. What can we learn frm the passage?
      A. Recalling thers’ psitive behavirs rather than their wn can imprve genersity.
      B. Recalling children’s wn kindness can help them d greater gd.
      C. Children behave meanly after recalling many examples f their gdness.
      D. Parents’ behavir has a greater influence n children than their peers’.
      D
As AI becmes mre ppular in educatin, sme argue that AI expands (扩大) creative ptential (潜力), while thers fear it prevents riginality (独创性). One f the biggest cncerns abut AI in educatin is that it can discurage deep thinking. Since AI generates (产生) cntent based n existing (现存的) data, students wh ver-rely n (依赖) it may prduce wrk that has n riginality. Over time, relying t heavily n AI culd weaken critical thinking skills and may even make students lse cnfidence in their wn creative abilities.
On the ther hand, AI can be a pwerful tl fr expanding creative ptential. One f AI’s greatest strengths is its ability t generate new ideas. When students face creative blcks, AI can prvide prmpts (提示) r suggest new ideas that they might nt have cnsidered.
One study examined 225 university students wh were assigned a creative writing task. Half used AI fr assistance (帮助), while the ther half wrked withut AI. One f the key findings was that students wh used AI prduced mre creative utputs cmpared t thse wh didn’t. AI helped students explre new ideas, refine their writing, and experiment with new structures r cncepts. They als fund that it reduced the difficulty and effrt required fr creative tasks. Having AI assist them made the prcess smther and easier.
Hwever, while AI imprved the quality f creative wrk, it als diminished the value and enjyment f the creative prcess itself. Many students reprted feeling less engaged (专注的)r emtinally cnnected t their wrk when AI was heavily invlved (参与的). Mrever, sme students felt uneasy abut relying n AI fr creative tasks, questining whether AI-generated assistance was a frm f “cheating” r if it was weakening their persnal effrt.
Fr AI t be a part f educatin, it shuld be a thinking partner, nt just a tl fr quick slutins. Teachers can encurage students t engage in a back-and-frth dialgue with AI, fr example, by refining ideas and challenging respnses, rather than simply cpying AI-generated cntent. Fcus n the creative prcess, nt the final prduct. Creativity isn’t just abut the end result-it’s abut the persnal jurney f explratin, struggle, and discvery. Teachers culd require students t take dwn their brainstrming prcess, shwing hw they used AI and hw it influenced their wrk. Students need t understand hw AI wrks, its biases, and its limitatins and ensure they engage with AI in a respnsible and meaningful way.
AI has the ptential t bth hinder (阻碍) and raise creativity, depending n hw it is used. The key is respnsible and intentinal use. AI shuld supprt students, nt replace their creative effrts. By teaching students hw t use AI as a tl, we can ensure that AI empwers the next generatin f creative thinkers instead f limiting their ptential.
      30. What is the study mainly abut?
      A. Reasns fr students t use AI.
      B. AI’s wrking prcess fr helping creativity.
      C. AI’s influence n students’ creativity.
      D. Difficulties students face when using AI.
      31. What des the wrd “diminished” in Paragraph 4 prbably mean?
      A. Lwered.B. Raised.
      C. Cleared.D. Deepened.
      32. What will the writer prbably agree with?
      A. AI can’t help students t be mre creative.
      B. Students shuldn’t use AI because it’s a frm f “cheating”.
      C. Students shuld be taught t use AI wisely and respnsibly.
      D. Using AI t find quick slutins is mre imprtant than fcusing n prcess.
      33. Which f the fllwing is the best title fr this passage?
      A. Why Des AI Raise Yur Creativity?
      B. Des AI Harm Students' Creativity?
      C. Is It Imprtant t Find the Ptential f AI?
      D. Hw Can AI Create Original Wrk?
      第二部分
      本部分共5题,共20分。根据题目要求,完成相应任务。
      四、阅读表达(第34-36题每题2分,第37题4分,共10分)
      阅读短文,根据短文内容回答问题。
Last summer, I wanted t read “The Little Prince”, but the new cpy was t expensive. My mther suggested buying a used ne nline. I fund ne n an Old Bks Netwrk fr nly ¥12—less than half the price f a new bk! I was nervus: Wuld the pages be trn? Wuld it smell musty (发霉的)? When the bk arrived, the edges were slightly yellwed, but it was clean and cmplete. That experience started my adventure with nline secndhand bks.
Fr me, there are many bright sides f buying used bks. First, saving mney is the biggest advantage. Used bks ften cst 40%—60% less than new nes. With my pcket mney, I culd buy three used nvels fr the price f ne new bk. Secnd, it helps ur planet. Reusing bks saves trees and reduces carbn emissins (排放) frm printing new nes. Every ld bk reused is like recycling a stack f paper! Third, hidden treasures await. Once, a friend bught a 1980s cmic nline and fund handwritten ntes frm its riginal wner—it felt like discvering a piece f histry.
Hwever, there are als sme risks. Peple may wrry abut the quality f the used bks: pages might have highlights, stains, r even tears. T avid this, I learned t check seller ratings and descriptins carefully. Wrds like “like new” r “minr wear” are gd signs. Slw delivery is anther issue. Shipping can take ver a week, s I plan ahead if I need a bk fr schl. Digital access (使用权) prblems can happen t. Sme textbks require QR cdes fr nline resurces, but used cpies might nt include them. I always message sellers t ask befre buying. Finally, peple have hygiene (卫生) wrries. I ften disinfect (给……杀菌) bks by sun-drying them fr a day—it’s simple and effective.
Buying used bks nline is like ging n a treasure hunt: affrdable, ec-friendly and full f surprises. I’ve saved ver ¥500 in tw years and even made a friend when buying bks frm a lcal buyer. Just remember t chse reliable platfrms, check the phts f the bks clsely, and enjy the jurney. As a bk lver nce said, “Every ld bk carries nt just stries, but a jurney t yur hands.”
      34. Why didn’t the writer buy a new cpy f “The Little Prince”?
