      Researchers frm the University f Yrk fund that children’s views changed when they were encuraged t write abut the marine (海洋的) plastic litter surrunding Latin American cuntries.
      The stry-writing activity tk place during the epidemic. A ttal f 89 children tk part in the study. They were asked t think abut what kind f litter wuld be fund in the cean. The children were given a list f items and asked t create a stry arund them, keeping in mind the plastic pllutin prblem.
      Over half f the stries shwed the children had sme awareness f the harmful effects plastic has n marine life — what wuld happen if animals ate plastic, gt stuck in plastic, r were pisned by things in plastic. Many f the stries described very terrible results, including injuries, death, envirnmental impacts as well as hw plastics affect the beauty f beaches.
      Creating stries arund litter had an impact n the children as well. The stries shwed clear examples that human behavir is the cause f plastic pllutin and the imprtance f individual actin. Fr example, abut 77 percent f the stries talked abut slutins t plastic littering.
      “A key part f ur prject was t examine the children’s respnses t questinnaires (调查表) they cmpleted befre and after writing these stries. We fund that their knwledge n the tpic increased and they became mre practive, as they reprted ding mre pr-envirnmental acts afterwards.
