When the by’s parents tried t aplgize t the girl and her parents, they — and everyne else in the ward — tld them they felt they’d seen a miracle watching the by sing.
Stries like these are why Shawna lves writing spiritual music. It isn’t abut nline views r persnal acclaim, but abut tuching hearts ne at a time thrugh inspired sngs.
“I have arund 65 sngs n YuTube, and every single ne has cme with multiple miracles — I culd share a millin,” Shawna says. “There are ‘sng miracles’ where writers are given the perfect wrds fr smene in need, and I believe thse sngs find their way t them exactly when they’re needed.”

Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) are critical t mdern cities. They keep public health safe by handling billins f liters f wastewater every day. But as the wrld races t reduce greenhuse gas emissins, a key surce is slipping under the radar: the wastewater sectr itself.
In a new study published in Envirnmental Science and Ectechnlgy (July 2025), researchers frm Harbin Institute f Technlgy challenge the current ways f cunting WWTPs’ greenhuse gases. They warn that cmmn methds greatly underestimate the sectr’s effect n climate — especially when it cmes t fssil carbn dixide (CO2).
It’s well knwn that WWTPs release methane (CH4) and nitrus xide (N2O) during bilgical treatment and waste handling. These are tw strng greenhuse gases. But fewer peple understand the rle f fssil CO2, released frm man-made chemicals like detergents (洗涤剂). This carbn cmes frm fssil surces, nt natural brken dwn. S it adds t atmspheric CO2, but mst emissin lists dn’t include it.
Using radicarbn tests, the study’s authrs fund that fssil carbn makes up 4 — 28% f all carbn in the wastewater that enters WWTPs. Mst f this fssil carbn turns int CO2 and is released during treatment. But this hidden emissin is ignred in mst fficial climate reprts.
“Wastewater is nt just a cleanliness issue — it’s a climate issue,” said Dr. Haiyan Li, wh led the study. “By frgetting fssil CO2 and using utdated estimatin methds, we’re reprting fewer greenhuse gases than we shuld.”
T help cities switch t lw-carbn wastewater treatment, the authrs suggest using real-time, multi-gas mnitring systems. They als say fssil CO2 shuld be included in natinal climate lists. This wuld let lcal gvernments and plant peratrs make emissin-cutting plans based n real site cnditins, nt assumptins.
“We need better data t drive better plicies,” the research team said. “Smarter mnitring tls can cnnect science and actin.”
This research shws a bigger change in thinking: wastewater infrastructure — lng seen just as a tl fr hygiene — must als be seen as a key part f fighting climate change.
28. What des the authr mean by saying “a key surce is slipping under the radar” in Paragraph 1?
A. A majr emissin surce is ignred.B. Fssil fuels are verused in WWTPs.
C. Methane release is unmnitred.D. Emissin cunting tls are utdated.
29. Why is fssil CO2 left ut f mst emissin lists?
A. It is nt a strng greenhuse gas.B. It cmes frm natural breakdwn.
C. Its surce is nt well recgnized.D. It is released in small amunts.
30. What d the researchers suggest t slve the prblem?
A. Stpping using man-made chemicals.B. Adding fssil CO2 t climate recrds.
C. Reducing methane and nitrus xide.D. Clsing utdated wastewater plants.
31. What is the text mainly abut?
A. A New Climate Threat.B. Hidden Fssil CO2 in Wastewater.
C. Lw-Carbn Treatment fr Wastewater.D. Underestimated WWTPs’ CO2 Emissins.
