The gal is t reduce the number f bird-windw cllisin fatalities (撞击死亡事故) n Vic U’s campus this fall migratin.
      Hearing the cncerns (担忧) abut bird safety n Vic U’s campus frm students and teachers, Kam Jahresi, senir manager f campus peratins, helped rganize the event with BirdSafe U f T. Students and teachers set up prints f the bird-friendly drawings, using them as guides t paint the utside windws f E.J. Pratt Library. Vic U’s president Rhnda McEwen als jined the event.
      Jahremi was thankful fr the cmmunity supprt. “Students lved bth the art and the event’s envirnmental fcus,” he said. “They are interested in taking part in similar events in the future! The partnership shws that sustainability (可持续性) is a team effrt.”

      Cal AI is the brainchild f Zach Yadegari. The 18-year-ld teenager came up with the idea in 2023 after having a hard time with traditinal calrie-cunting apps. “I was tracking calries n MyFitnessPal,” he explains. “After three days, I stpped. I was having s much truble using their app, typing in everything — it tk s much time.”
      In rder t find a better way, Yadegari teamed up with sme high schl friends t build a simpler, mre accurate tl. They fcused n accurate calrie cunting. They trained Cal AI using pictures frm three different AI mdels. This helped it t recgnize what’s in packaged fds and meals like mixed bwls. The final challenge was estimating prtin sizes (估算分量). This was slved by cmparing user phts t standard prtins. The develpers say that Cal AI is 90% accurate in recgnizing fds and cunting calries.
      Since it came ut in May 2024, Cal AI has been dwnladed (下载) ver five millin times. Mre than 30% f users cntinue t use the app. In February 2025 alne, it brught in ver $2 millin, and the numbers cntinue t grw.
