Cnventinal disaster evaluatins might suggest a certain flw will nly burst windws, but he says, “When actually, the pressures are s strng, they knck dwn the walls f the building.”
Pyrclastic flws are the deadliest vlcanic disaster, in part because f the pressures they cause. Due t their vilent nature, researchers ften have t evaluate average pressures in the flws using cmputer simulatins (模拟) based n measurements f gelgic depsits left by past flws.
At Massey University in Palmerstn Nrth, New Zealand, researchers freed mixtures f ht rck, ash and gas dwn a channel t cpy vlcanic landslides knwn as pyrclastic flws.
