      The 95-year-ld grandma Wu Mingzhu is called the “queen f melns”, a meln-grwing expert and utstanding academician. Amng Wu Mingzhu’s classmates was Yuan Lngping, wh later became the “father f hybrid rice”.

      Fr mre than 60 years, Wu Mingzhu and her team have cultivated mre than 30 varieties, brught the sweetness f melns t peple, and prmted the meln series with Chinese characteristics and a cmplete breeding innvatin system t the wrld. When first hearing her nickname f “a pearl in the Turpan Basin”, Wu said, “in Xinjiang, there are thusands f science and technlgy wrkers like me.       On the mrning f September 9, 2025, a significant event tk place in Shandng Prvince, China. A Smart Dragn-3 (SD-3) rcket lifted ff successfully frm the castal launch site, marking anther step frward in the cuntry’s cmmercial space develpment. The rcket’s main task was t send the Geely-05 cnstellatin satellites int their planned rbits — and it cmpleted this missin perfectly.
      Develped by a Chinese aerspace cmpany, the SD-3 is a small slid-fuel rcket. It is designed t be flexible and cst-effective, making it ideal fr launching small satellites. The Geely-05 cnstellatin, n the ther hand, is nt just a single satellite but a grup f satellites. These satellites will mainly be used fr tw purpses: prviding high-precisin psitining services and supprting intelligent transprtatin systems. Fr example, they can help imprve the accuracy f navigatin apps in cars and trucks, making travel safer and mre efficient.
      Witnesses at the launch site described the mment as “exciting.” As the rcket rared int the sky, it left a bright trail against the clear mrning cluds.
