Suy credits his interest in phtgraphy t a French jurnalist he met in 2000. Since 2012. he has used his lve f phtgraphy fr a gd cause: prtecting wildlife. As mre and mre animal species began t disappeer frm Kandal Prvince, he grew wrried. S he created a pht prject which he hped wuld bring mre attentin t the lss f natural habitats in Cambdia.
He hpes t educate Cambdians abut the imprtance f bird species and the effect they have n nature. He said, “The biggest issue is the damage t habitats and paching".Besides that, it is due t the demand frm the rich wh desire wild meat and wh cnsider wild meat chemical-free.
His phtgraphy wrk has shwn “hw lack f educatin and law enfrcemen” makes the prblem wrse. Hunting is at the rt f Cambdian culture.“Educatin is very limited,” he said. “And in terms f legal enfrcement, nly ne rganizatin is standing ut, and that is the Wildlife Alliance.” He nted that the grup had carried ut a number f successful crackdwns against hunting. But there were few majr campaigns n wildlife hunting.as a whle.
Prtected areas within frests have disappeared at the same rate as frests in ther parts f the cuntry Paching and hunting have led t the lss f animal and plant species in Cambdia.
T Chantha Nasak, a wildlife expert, the damage t wildlife habitats is the main reasn fr the decrease in the number f wild animals. He says the destructin f frests and the use f land fr agricultural and ther purpses are the biggest threats, as well as the climate change.
Hwever. there are already agreements between sme NGOs and the Cambdian gvernment t help wild species. Als. Chantha Nasak says sme cmmunities are wrking tgether t prtect wildlife arund the cuntry.
“All Cambdian citizens shuld jin hands in the prtectin f wildlife, nt just the NGOs and the gvernment,” he said. “It shuld be everyne.”

“I like pigs,” Winstn Churchill suppsedly nce said. “Dgs lk up t us. Cats lk dwn n us. Pigs treat us as equals.” Whether Churchill’s cntemprary Gerge Orwell als liked pigs is less clear. But he, t, surely saw smething in them that was lacking in many dmestic (驯养的) animals, fr it was they wh ended up running the shw in his nvel, Animal Farm. Pigs, then, are intelligent scial creatures.
And, like all animals, they smetimes fight. Sme pigs tend t be attackers; thers tend t be victims. Wh is what depends largely n weight. Amng pigs, punds mean pwer. The attacker might bite, kick r push the victim. Mst cnflicts end in secnds, but sme last a minute r tw.
In mst animal species fights wuld be like that. Hwever, many f the cnflicts amng pigs Dr Nrscia, a bilgist, bserved had interested parties beynd the fighters. He therefre wanted t understand the rle f these bystanders in slving cnflicts—and what this says abut pigs’ cgnitive (认知的) abilities.
Since there was usually nt enugh time fr a bystander pig t becme invlved in the heat f a cnflict, thugh this did ccur, Dr Nrscia lked at what happened in the three minutes immediately fllwing a fight. Smetimes, he fund, the fighters recnciled with each ther n their wn. The mre distantly related the fighters were, the mre frequently this happened. Dr Nrscia guessed that relatins between clse relatives are mre secure t start with, s rebuilding friendly relatins rapidly is less necessary fr them.
On ther ccasins, hwever, a third pig stepped in. Smetimes this bystander interacted with the attacker, which reduced the number f attacks cming after. Smetimes, the bystander interacted with the victim. This appeared t calm the victim dwn, fr it reduced anxiety-related behavir.
Scial intelligence need nt, thugh, be entirely selfless. Pigs are mre likely t step in after a cnflict if they are clsely related t either the attacker r the victim. This is prbably an example f kin selectin (亲属选择), which favrs the develpment f behavir.
      32. Why are Churchill and Orwell mentined at the beginning?
      A. T shw their preference fr pigs.B. T add sme related backgrunds.
      C. T intrduce the tpic f the text.D. T present their attitude t animals.
      33. What is special abut pigs’ fights?
      A. They aim t shw pwer.B. They have audiences.
      C. They last a little bit lnger.D. They happen mre ften.
      34. What des the underlined wrd “recnciled” prbably mean in paragraph 4?
      A. Caught up.B. Kept in tuch.C. Made up.D. Changed in tune.
      35. Which f the fllwing reflects pigs’ scial intelligence?
      A. Offering cmfrt t victim pigs.B. Frming special bnds with strangers.
      C. Sticking t their behavir.D. Caring fr thers with selfless devtin.

Hw t Overcme the Harmful Habit f Judging
Ah, punctuality — the art f being precisely n time. It’s a cncept s deeply rted in sme cultures that even being a minute late can cause a small-scale panic attack. ____36____ Let’s examine whether punctuality is the defining feature f a superir sciety r merely anther subjective cnstruct.
Each part f the wrld has a unique relatinship with time, enriching the fabric f glbal culture. In Japan, fr example, yu’re always expected t arrive n time, and preferably a few minutes early.

Many live by the mtt, “Tud bem,” which means “It’s all gd.” Hnestly, they seem t be nt smething.
S, is punctuality essential? It depends n what cultures yu are in. Whether yu’re a stickler fr punctuality r mre laid-back, what truly matters is hw yu spend yur time. ____40____ Let’s try t find that middle grund where we can respect thers’ time while embracing the jy f living in the mment. Ultimately, time is just a cnstruct, and life is t shrt t stress abut being late.
      A. Miss a train by a minute?
      B. Punctuality is timeless art.
      C. But is punctuality essential?
      D. In this cntext, punctuality is flexible.
      E. Yu culd set yur clck by their daily rutines.
      F. There, being late is nt nly accepted but expected.
      G. Are yu enjying the jurney r cnstantly watching the clck?
