“The Five-Starred Red Flag flies high…” Whenever we hear the sng, we will sing alng. The sng is called
Ode t the Mtherland (《歌唱祖国》). It was written by Wang Xin.
On Octber 1, 1949, Wang Xin attended the Funding Ceremny (开国大典) f the Peple’s Republic f
China. He was deeply mved and decided t write a sng at nce fr New China with his lve and pride. He had

One day in September 1950, n the way t Beijing Railway Statin, Wang Xin walked past Tian’anmen
