Last summer, I went t France fr a hliday. I was s excited but als a little anxius because my French was nt gd.
One ht afternn, after explring the city, I felt really tired. I wanted t tell my French friend, Claire, "I am a little tired." I carefully said the wrds I'd learned: "Je suis un pue fatigue."
But Claire burst ut laughing. My face felt ht. What had I dne wrng? Claire explained, "In French, there are wrds that sund similar but have very different meanings. 'peu' means 'a little,' but if yu prnunce it differently, it can sund like 'pue', which means 'stinks' — like smething smells bad. S, instead f saying yu needed a rest, it sunded like yu were saying yu smelled bad and were tired"
This awkward mment was a real eye - pener fr me. It made me realize just hw daunting prnunciatin can be in a freign language. Even small differences in prnunciatin can cmpletely change the meaning f what yu're trying t say. The same is true in English, fr example, "ship" (a large bat) and "sheep" (a wlly animal) sund very similar, but they mean ttally different things.
Nw, I pay extra attentin t hw wrds sund and what they mean. And if I mix them up again, I'll just laugh alng. After all, laughing is part f learning -- even if it's a bit stinky smetimes.

It is n secret that the mre time we spend n scial media, the less satisfied we may feel with urselves. We ften cmpare urselves t influencers and celebrities (名人), which can easily harm ur cnfidence.
But hw ften d yu cmpare yur life t yur friends' lives? New research has fund that seeing scial media psts frm ur friends can be mre harmful than seeing cntent frm celebrities.

Mre imprtantly, it fund that seeing psts frm peple the participants knew was mre than twice as damaging as seeing psts frm strangers, including famus peple.
Prfessr Viren Swami, a scial psychlgy expert, believes this is partly because we knw it's hard t live the life f a celebrity. Hwever, when we cmpare urselves t ur friends, it feels like we shuld — r culd — live the way they d.
"One pssible explanatin is that peple are mre likely t believe a pst is achievable if it cmes frm smene they knw. This creates expectatin r pressure," he said. "At the same time, peple may lk mre critically at psts by mdels r celebrities, and see the images they share as less realistic."
This effect is nt just limited t bdy image. We all have areas in ur lives that make us feel insecure. Maybe yu've been lking fr a new jb fr mnths, and then yu see a frmer classmate n scial media wh has just landed their dream jb.
The pint is bvius: we nly see a small part f thers' lives. If scial media makes yu feel dwn, yu are prbably cmparing yur real self t thers' perfect appearances. Everyne has their wn difficulties, and n ne's life is perfect. S, put dwn yur phne, be thankful fr what yu have, and fcus n living yur wn life.

A. Because they are ur rle mdels.
B. Because we are familiar with their lives.
C. Because their success seems easier t achieve.
D. Because we are mre curius abut their lives.
30. What is the authr's attitude twards using scial media?
A. Supprtive.B. Uninterested.C. Negative.D. Uncertain.
31. What des the authr suggest peple d at the end f the passage?
A. Find a dream and wrk hard fr it.
B. Stp cmplaining and start wrking.

Yur bdy wrks best in the early evening." says Jake Ericksn, a sprts medicine specialist. "This is a gd time t exercise. During this time, yur bdy has time t wake up a bit by mving arund thrughut the day. Als, yur bdy uses xygen better in the evening. This helps yu use yur energy mre efficiently when yu exercise."
A study with ver 90,000 peple fund that exercising in the afternn is better fr yur heart and helps yu live lnger than exercising in the mrning r evening. This is especially true fr lder peple.
