Circadian rhythms repeat every 24 hurs and almst every living thing has them. They tell animals the best time t hunt, fr example, and plants when t flwer. Circadian rhythms are influenced by light. When the sun shines thrugh the windw in the mrning yur bdy clck tells yu it’s time t wake up. When it’s dark yur bdy feels sleepy.
Gd-quality sleep lets yur brain recharge and replace imprtant hrmnes (荷尔蒙) t keep yu healthy. Nt listening t yur bdy clck, such as ging t bed late, can mess with yur sleep cycle and make yu feel tired and easy t get angry the next day. Circadian rhythms als affect energy, digestin (消化) and bdy temperature. In fact, scientists have fund that they help ur whle bdy run smthly. Swathi Yadlapalli is a scientist wh studies hw peple grw and develp. She says, “Almst every part in the human bdy has a circadian clck.”
Circadian rhythms are written int peple’s genes (基因), which are the bdy's instructins fr hw t develp and grw. We can’t change them but we can listen t what they are telling us. S whether yu are used t staying up late, r getting up early, try ging t bed and getting up at the same time every day. It als suggests getting lts f natural light in the mrning. My studies nce shwed that students perfrm better when they take ntes by hand than when they use laptps. Befre I knew it, thse studies were used as gd reasns fr laptp bans (禁止) in classrms in the U.S. I received a lt f emails blaming (责备) me fr such ideas. The fact is that I dn’t actually supprt laptp bans, and never have. In fact, I dn’t even ban laptps in my wn classes.
In the research, we asked students t watch TED Talks and had them take ntes either n laptps r with a pen and paper. Students using laptps recrded the talks nearly with every wrd, while students wh tk handwritten ntes culd nt; they just tk ntes in their wn wrds. Writing by hand required students t understand and summarize the talk. And deeper prcessing (加工) f the infrmatin led t imprved learning. As a result, students in this case get higher pints n tests.
My findings came ut. Teachers arund the cuntry sn started banning laptps in their classes. But they didn’t knw what actually made learning difficult was the mindless recrding f a lecture. Laptps just allwed students t take ntes mre quickly.
Like mst technlgy, laptps are nt universally helpful r harmful in class. Whether they are helpful r harmful depends n the aim. The value f a laptp in the classrm depends n the gal f a lessn plan, the nature f the text, the kind f students being taught, etc.
S can laptps be used in the classrm? If a lessn requires exact qutes, then laptps are excellent. But if the gal is cnceptual (概念的) understanding, they will prduce the exactly ppsite results. Dn’t frget the situatin when deciding whether r nt t allw laptps in yur class. All in all, the answer t the questin is that it depends.

A. He banned laptps in classes.
B. His studies supprted laptp bans.
C. His research results let peple dwn.
D. Schls used his studies t ban laptps.
33. What was the key difference between laptp ntes and handwritten ntes in the research?
A. Laptp ntes were much mre detailed.
B. Handwritten ntes bettered thinking ability.
C. Handwritten ntes recrded every wrd in need.
D. Laptp ntes were written in students’ wn wrds.
34. What did the authr think made learning difficult in the case f laptp use?
A. The technlgy f laptps itself.B. Students’ imprper use f laptps.
C. The speed f taking ntes with laptps.D. The design f lessn plans fr laptp users.
35. What is the main idea f the passage?
A. Handwritten ntes are better fr students’ learning than laptp ntes.
B. Laptp bans in classrms are unreasnable and shuld be prhibited.
C. The use f laptps in classrms shuld be decided based n situatins.
