This week, a study was carried ut mnitring insect activity n the flwer-cvered land, which fund they were feeding ne millin bees at any time.
“This was ur target when we started, t grw enugh flwers t feed a millin bees n a single day.” Mark said. “We are acutely aware that bees are under threat frm mdern farming methds and that East England is ne f the wrst places where bees are seriusly suffering frm lack f fraging (觅食) diversity,” he cntinued.
“Every third bite f fd yu eat can cme frm bees and we wanted t create an peratin n ur farm that did nt push nature ut but rather hugged it—as a central part f ur eclgy system and ur fd cycle,” he said.

Facial expressins aren’t the nly way we express ur emtins — bdy language als plays a crucial rle. The way ur bdy mves when laughing at a shw is different frm hw we mve when staying tgether with an ld friend. Althugh bth are expressins f happiness, finding cmmn patterns acrss different situatins is difficult. These patterns becme particularly challenging t define when we cnsider crss-cultural differences as well.
Researchers frm the Research Institute f Electrical Cmmunicatin at Thku University (Japan) dealt with these challenges by cllecting bdy mvements frm different situatins, emtins and persnal styles in a mtin capture(动作捕捉)lab. Unlike previus databases that fcused n simple and repetitive actins( sadly, walking happily, walking angrily), and were primarily based n Western ppulatins, this new database aims t capture a wide range f emtinal bdily expressins acrss varius situatins, with a fcus n Japanese peple brn and raised in Japan.
T build this database, six prfessinal perfrmers were asked t think back t situatins that made them happy, angry, sad, surprised, fearful, disgusted(厌恶的)r cntemptuus(轻蔑的)and act them ut using full-bdy mvement. Their perfrmances were recrded using high-speed mtin capture technlgy, in which the 3-D infrmatin f mvements was captured as a vide. The recrdings were later prcessed int simple stick figure-like animatins(简笔画式动画).
Study members watched these animatins and discerned the expressed emtins. The results shwed that they culd recgnize the emtins nly frm bdy mvements, and the accuracy was as gd as past simple actin databases. Amng the emtins studied, anger and fear were the easiest t recgnize, while cntempt and disgust were the hardest.
Future research can use this database t imprve understanding f cultural differences in nnverbal cmmunicatin. This will be helpful in develping technlgy cmmunicatin tls t prmte crss-cultural cmmunicatin and understanding. This resurce is expected t benefit researchers and industries using mtin capture techniques such as gaming, film, animatin and virtual reality.
      28. What is the uniqueness f the new study?
      A. Its fcus n simple and repetitive actins.
      B. Its analysis f Western and Japanese ppulatins.
      C. Its explratin f cultural differences in bdy language.
      D. Its transitin frm facial expressins t bdy mvements.
      29. What were the six perfrmers asked t d?
      A. Change the recrdings int animatins.
      B. Mve their bdies accurately as rdered.
      C. Express their emtins as clearly as pssible.
      D. Remember and act ut persnal emtinal experiences.
      30. What des the underlined wrd “discerned” in paragraph 4 prbably mean?

Later, the intrductin f smartphnes marked the end f the 3G era and the beginning f the 4G era.
Our current state f cmmunicatin started in the early 2020s with the develpment f the 5G netwrk. Fllwing the great advancements f the 5G netwrk, the next frntier is arund the crner: 6G.
At its cre, 6G will be abut mre than just faster Internet speeds. It will enable a fully immersive (沉浸式的) digital wrld. Mrever, it will expand the bundaries f what is pssible with the Internet f Things (IT). In shrt, the ptential applicatins f 6G are vast and varied.
6G’s ultra-lw delay and high bandwidth (带宽) will enable telemedicine applicatins like remte surgery. Wearable health devices culd prvide cntinuus health mnitring, telling medical prfessinals abut any signs in real-time. With ultra-fast cmmunicatin between vehicles and infrastructure(基础设施), traffic management will becme mre efficient, imprving verall safety. Mst imprtantly, smart cities will develp fast n 6G’s capabilities, with everything being cnnected and imprved in real-time. IT sensrs placed in infrastructure will mnitr everything frm air quality t energy cnsumptin, imprving peple’s quality f life.
6G is the next step in the develpment f wireless cmmunicatin, prmising faster speeds, lwer delay, and a hst f new applicatins that will change industries and daily life. While it’s still in the early stages f research and develpment, the ptential fr 6G is great, and its arrival culd have a great impact in the cming decades.

      By enabling real-time health mnitring.
By increasing the accuracy f medical devices.
By training medical prfessinals thrugh VR.
By imprving medical waste management systems.
      34. What can be inferred frm the fifth paragraph?
The success f remte surgery depends n 6G.
The applicatins described need high-speed data transmissin.
6G netwrks are already capable f pwering smart cities.
The primary gal f 6G is t make entertainment mre enjyable.
      35. What is the best title fr the passage?
      A. The Histry f Mbile Phnes: Frm 1G t 5G
      B. Hw 6G Changed the Wrld
      C. Int the Future: The Rise f 6G
      D. The Dangers f Wireless Technlgy
