Data btained frm China’s Zhurng rver (探测器) indicate that the cean — knwn as Deuternilus — wuld have existed rughly 3.5 t 4 billin years ag, a time when Mars had a thicker atmsphere and warmer climate. Accrding t scientists, hidden underneath the red planet is evidence that there were nce sandy beaches and a sizeable cean n it.
The rver, which perated frm May 2021 t May 2022, travelled abut 1.9 km n the planet, and detected materials with prperties similar t sand arund 10 m — 35 m belw the surface. The sand-like material all slped (倾斜) in the same directin and at an angle, similar t beaches n Earth, and spanned abut 1.5 km, researchers said. These Earth-like features led researchers t investigate whether they were truly frmed by ancient waves.

Agrivltaics (农业光伏) is the practice f using the same land fr farming and prducing slar energy. This practice ften invlves placing slar panels (太阳能板) ver farmland. The wrd “agrivltaics” is a cmbinatin f “agriculture” and “phtvltaics”. Agriculture refers t farming while phtvltaics describes technlgy that makes electricity frm sunlight. N single agrivltaics technique wrks everywhere. Squash (a kind f vegetable), fr example, generally need direct sunlight. S they dn’t grw well under slar panels. Even lwer light crps may have truble grwing well in agrivltaics setups. Fr example, the shade frm slar panels helps keep the sil misture. On sme farms, this cmes as a benefit. But it may als increase the risk f sme plant diseases. And water puring ff the panels during a rainstrm may verwater sme plants.
Researchers tday are explring hw t minimize these and ther challenges. They are als finding ways t help farmers imprve the harvest f their crps t the greatest degree and prduce as much electricity as pssible frm the same land.
      12.What is a functin f agrivltaics?
A.Sparing enugh land t feed livestck.
B.Reducing the cst f slar energy prductin.
C.Imprving traditinal farming methds with slar panels.

D.The cmparisns between traditinal farming and agrivltaics.

A.T explain that agrivltaics has limitatins.
B.T display that plants shuld have enugh sunlight.
C.T emphasize the rle f sil misture in crp selectin.
D.T shw that agrivltaics is beneficial t vegetable grwth.
15.What are researchers currently ding regarding agrivltaics?
A.They are building slar panels that take up less space.
B.They are imprving crps suitable t grw under slar panels.
C.They are trying t maximize the prductin f crps and energy.
D.They are teaching farmers hw t make prper use f slar panels.
