Tday , I want t tell yu abut a prject we started t keep ur twns histry frm fading away．Its easy t miss hw ld landm arks slwly disappear in daily life , but arund here , histric buildings have been disappearing pretty fast．Our twn has a line f ld stne cttages—each ver １００ years ld—lcated alngside a narrw river．Lately , develpers have been tearing them dwn t put up mdern apartment buildings , and with that, the stries behind these hmes are being frgtten．Thats why I came up with a plan t get peple t ntice．I started “Legacy Hmes”—a prject where I made hundreds f metal plates , each with the year the cttage was first built．I gave these plates t the current wners , wh put them n their frnt drs．Lcal schl kids then lked int each cttages histry , writing shrt stries abut wh lived there lng ag , and stuck thse next t the plates．Luckily , ur effrts have paid ff: several ld hmes have already been fixed up instead f being destryed．And in the future , were ging t d even mre．
