The lives f Opira Bsc Okt and his family have been heavily affected by climate change. Nw, he is wrking hard with ther yung peple t take actins t fight it.
Opira is a refugee (难民). In 2017, his village became uninhabitable due t repeated flds and drughts caused by climate change. He ran and walked bareft fr days, eventually crssing the brder int Uganda and arriving at the Palabek Refugee Settlement, which is a place fr refugees t live in. There, he was given a small piece f land n which he culd build a shelter and make a living by farming.
Hwever, climate change is causing temperature rises and unpredictable rainfall in Uganda, affecting hw much fd farmers can prduce. In Opira’s hme cuntry, the situatin is almst the same. Peple have als struggled with flds and drughts which affect farming very much. Many are nw escaping due t the natural disasters in different parts f the cuntry.
