Sanxingdui lies in mdern Guanghan，in Sichuan Prvince f suthwestern China. The Sanxingdui relics(遗迹)were first discvered by a farmer in 1929. Since then, archaelgists have wrked n the discvery and research f the Sanxingdui Culture. In 1986, tw sacrificial pits(祭祀坑)were fund and they drew tns f attentin arund the wrld. Since 2019, six new pits have been discvered. Thusands f surprising artifacts have been fund there, and they culd date back t the 12th and 11th centuries BC.
Archaelgists believe that the Sanxingdui civilizatin(文明)may be part f the ancient kingdm f Shu. The Sanxingdui relics were part f the Chinese Brnze Age and, accrding t the findings in the area, this was a very sphisticated (复杂的)culture. Yet it mysteriusly disappeared arund 1100 BC leaving nly artifacts behind.
