A medical breakthrugh in China is giving new hpe t peple with spinal crd injuries (脊髓损伤). Scientists have created a brain-spinal chip (芯片) that allws paralyzed (瘫痪的) patients t mve their legs, and even walk again.
The chip, nly 1mm wide, is designed t be fitted int the brain and spinal crd. If the natural cmmunicatin between the brain and muscles (肌肉) is lst, this chip becmes the bridge. When the chips wrk, they create a direct cnnectin between the brain and muscles.
The results have been amazing. A 34-year-ld man, paralyzed after a fall, culd mve his legs just ne day after the peratin n January 8, 2025. Tw weeks later, he walked five meters with help. Three ther patients had similar peratins in February and March, all getting better within weeks. Even thugh the patients’ nervus systems were damaged (受损), the chips helped them walk again.
