Hw Sea Animals Save Energy n Lng Jurneys
Sea animals like whales, sea turtles, and penguins face a big prblem during their lng jurneys: they need t save energy while traveling thusands f miles t have babies r find fd. Scientists have discvered that these air-breathing animals have a smart way t save energy—they swim at certain depths t avid wasting energy.
Just like swimmers wh dive underwater t mve faster, sea animals avid creating waves at the surface (表面), as waves create a frce that slws them dwn, making them use mre energy. Researchers studied penguins, sea turtles, and whales using trackers (追踪器). They nticed smething interesting: when traveling lng distances, these animals swim at depths abut three times their bdy’s thickness (frm back t chest). Fr example, a little penguin (30 cm thick) swims arund 90 cm belw the surface, while a blue whale (20 m thick) stays near 60 meters deep. This matches a science rule: the frce frm waves drps a lt when an bject is underwater at three times its thickness. By fllwing this rule, animals save energy fr imprtant things like finding fd r caring fr their yung.
This discvery is nt just abut science—it als helps prtect sea animals. Many sea creatures are in danger because f human actins. Fr example, whales ften get hit by ships. If ships avid the depths where whales swim, fewer accidents might happen. Similarly, sea turtles, which travel thusands f miles t lay eggs, smetimes get caught in fishing nets. Changing the depth at which nets are set culd save many turtles. By tracking swim depths, we can design better ways t prtect these animals.
Of curse, sea animals dn’t always stick t energy-saving depths. They dive deeper fr ther reasns. Dlphins might dive dwn t catch fish, while seals swim deeper t hide frm sharks. Hwever, during lng jurneys, the “three-bdy-thickness” rule is their key t saving energy.
Understanding these behavirs shws hw smart sea animals are—and hw humans can help them. By cmbining science with effrts t save the envirnment, we can prtect these amazing creatures and the ceans they call hme.

第二部分
本部分共5题,共20分。根据题目要求,完成相应任务。
四、阅读表达(34-36题,每题2分,37题4分,共10分)

With the rapid develpment f technlgy, rbts are playing an increasingly imprtant rle in healthcare.
Many cmpanies have created smart rbts t imprve patients’ quality f life, making their daily life safer and mre cnvenient. In China, the ArmMtus EMU rbt helps patients recver arm mvements after injuries with smart AI, which makes training fun and effective. In Japan, the Mabu rbt recrds medicatin (用药) schedules and als warns families abut health risks. Fr example, if a sick child frgets t take a pill, Mabu sets a reminder and ntifies (通知) parents. Such features allw sick children t stay independent while giving their families peace f mind.
Besides daily healthcare, rbts can als ffer cmpaninship (陪伴). Fr example, Tyta’s Human Supprt Rbt (HSR) can pick up bjects, prepare medicatin, and even hld simple cnversatins with patients. Similarly, ElliQ, develped by Intuitin Rbtics, acts as a “friend” by suggesting activities like playing chess r listening t music, sharing daily news, and chatting with the patients. These rbts cmbine (结合) advanced technlgy with healthcare, ffering bth safety and cmpaninship.
Even with these benefits, healthcare rbts still face big challenges. Cst remains a big prblem. High-tech rbts like Mabu r HSR are expensive, making them unaffrdable fr many families. Gvernments are explring slutins such as rbt-sharing prgrams t give mre peple chances t use these tls. Anther wrry is emtinal care. Sme peple argue that rbts cannt replace human warmth. Lking ahead, rbt technlgy will cntinue t advance. The Par rbt in Japan, a cute rbtic seal (海豹)—has already been used in sme hspitals t calm anxius patients. The Pill rbt in the US manages medicatins and even answers health questins, becming a trusted helper. Rbts ffer amazing tls t supprt healthcare. They handle rutine tasks, imprve safety, and bring jy. Yet, balancing technlgy with human cnnectin remains imprtant. Caregivers can start by intrducing rbts fr simple tasks like setting reminders, and gradually intrduce mre features based n patients’ needs.
34. Hw des Mabu help sick kids wh frget t take pills?
35. What tasks can Tyta’s HSR rbt d?
36. What are the challenges f using rbts in healthcare?
37. Which is better fr smene wh needs health care: healthcare rbts r human caregivers? Why? (Please give tw reasns.)
