Preet Chandi aims t cver mre than 1,100 miles in a jurney that will likely take 70 t 75 days.Pulling all her supplies n a sled(雪橇) called a pulk,which weighed mre than 250 punds at the start f her jurney,the 33-year-ld will battle temperatures f minus 58 degrees Fahrenheit and wind speeds up t 60 miles per hur.
Chandi—als called “Plar Preet”—set a recrd last year as the first wman f clr t cmplete an unsupprted expeditin(探险) t the Suth Ple.She finished the jurney in 40 days—just tw days lnger than Janna Davidsn f Sweden,wh hlds the female wrld recrd.

Chandi grew up in an Indian Sikh cmmunity in England and jined the Army Reserve at age 19.In 2012,she graduated frm cllege,becming the first in her family t earn a degree.
