      Quiet Quitting
While nt a new cncept, the term “quiet quitting" has recently gained ppularity n scial
      media.
      What is quiet quitting?
Quiet quitting desn't mean an emplyee has left their jb, but rather has limited their tasks t avid wrking lnger hurs. (67) __________________ They stick t what is in their jb descriptin and when they g hme, they leave wrk behind them and fcus n nn-wrk duties and activities.
      (68) __________________ It may als mean they are ready t change psitins r may be currently lking fr anther jb.
      Why are emplyees quiet quitting?
Quiet quitting may be a ppular term, but this practice isn't new. Wrkers have quietly quit their jbs fr years t lk fr smething new, whether it was because f pr pay, unmanageable wrklad, burnut r lack f grwth pprtunities.
Wrking frm hme has als changed the dynamics f the wrkplace because emplyees and managers are cmmunicating in different ways thrugh nline meetings. These interactins may feel mre frmal than the chat sessins that happen in an ffice. Limited meetings can cause a discnnect between emplyees and management. (69) __________________
      Hw can businesses help emplyees?
The biggest way t prevent disengagement is t imprve the emplyee experience. Talk t emplyees, gather their feedback and discuss what can be dne t make them feel appreciated. Make sure wrklads are realistic and that there are apprpriate bundaries t maintain a wrk-life balance. It's imprtant t check in with emplyees t make sure these bundaries are clear and help establish an pen and hnest relatinship.
Further, managers shuld clearly utline paths f career prgressin t each emplyee. (70) __________________ A recent reprt revealed that mre than half f emplyees surveyed wuld accept 10% less pay in exchange fr a “mre interesting career path r mre pprtunities t learn

Why Dn’t We Use the Math We Learn in Schl?
Hw much f the math yu've learned in schl is used in everyday life? Fr the majrity f peple, the answer is surprisingly little. Clearly, sme peple learn math very well and apply it in everyday prblem-slving settings. The questin is why mst peple dn't, in spite f spending many years practicing it.
The first explanatin blames the failure f educatin. One f the majr barriers t using a skill in real life is autmaticity. We tend t find the least-effrt slutin t ur prblem. If struggling
thrugh a math prblem is hard fr yu, yu'll find a different way t slve it that desn't rely n math. The familiar mdel fr teaching mathematics revlves arund teachers telling students certain rules, applying thse rules t examples and students then practicing prblems similar t the examples seen in class. By teaching in this way, a lt f the wrk and deep thught that went int the creatin f these mathematical rules is lst. In that sense, peple were never taught math thrughly enugh t use it autmatically in real life.
The secnd explanatin is a little different. It argues that peple may develp cmpetence in math classes, but they struggle t translate real-life prblems int a frmat where they can use thein mathematics knwledge. This seems mst apparent in the case f applying algebra (代数). Students struggle with algebra, but they particularly struggle with wrd prblems. Yet, the equivalent real-life prblems are typically much harder than wrd prblems. Frm this perspective, what peple struggle with is nt ding math, but recgnizing where and hw t apply math t real prblems.
Educatinal researchers nw emphasize the imprtance f transfer and deep understanding They believe we need t give students mre training in nticing and cnverting everyday situatins int the math prblems they knw hw t slve. By using real-life math applicatins, students can make cnnectins between math and everyday life.
