Then Neil crssed the Masn-Dixn Line, which runs thrugh the middle f a 19th-century farm. In Yrk, he walked thrugh a cemetery (公墓), where sme vlunteers were cleaning up and hnring unsung heres. In Pennsylvania, he stpped fr an afternn t scialize with sme lcals.

The news that sme cats play fetch n their wn terms wn’t surprise cat wners. Playing fetch with a cat is a bit different than playing fetch with a dg. Fetching cats tend t dictate (支配) when this play begins and ends. That’s the finding f a survey f 900 cat wners.
The vast majrity f the participants’ cats seemed t pick up the behavir n their wn. These cats had n direct training frm their wners. "Ultimately, I think the cats are in cntrl," says Jemma Frman, an animal-behavir scientist at the University f Sussex in Brightn, England. Her team’s study adds t scientists’ understanding f cat behavir, which has been less studied than that f dgs.
Previus studies had reprted that cats culd fetch. Hwever, there had been little research int why r hw the animals did it, r whether this required training. The inspiratin fr the new study came frm the Bear, a sleek Sphynx cat. "He surprised me ne day by bringing a ty t me," says Elizabeth Renner, a British psychlgist.
T see hw cmmn this was, Renner teamed up with Frman and a psychlgist, David Leavens, frm the University f Sussex. They created an nline survey and then emplyed respndents via scial media. They targeted peple wh had cats that played fetch.
The researchers were interested in the animals’ agency, which meant they wanted t knw wh initially came up with the idea f playing fetch. Mre ften than nt, they learned it had been the cats. The survey analyzed data frm 1,154 cats. Their wners reprted that 94 percent f the cats hadn’t been trained t fetch. Of the purebred (纯种的) cats studied, Siamese kitties fetched mst frequently.
"It’s pssible that the wners were training their cats withut realizing it," says Dennis Turner, a cat-behavir expert. "Even just thrwing a ty left at yur feet rewards yur cat with time and attentin. That strengthens the fetching behavir. Cats learn quickly, if they want t."
8.What is the difference between cats and dgs in playing fetch?
A.The interventin.
B.The efficiency.
C.The functin.
D.The initiative.
9.Wh was the first persn t launch the study accrding t the text?
A.Jemma Frman.
B.Elizabeth Renner.

A.Cats have the same ability t play fetch as dgs.
B.The wners shuld reward their cats by thrwing tys.
C.The wners cntribute t cats’ playing fetch unintentinally.

Flating slar panels culd supply sme electricity needs f the wrld, a new research has shwn. The study, by the researchers frm Bangr University, Lancaster University and the UK Centre fr Eclgy &; Hydrlgy, aimed t calculate the glbal ptential fr deplying (部署) lw-carbn flating slar arrays. The researchers calculated the daily electrical utput f the flating slar panels n nearly 68,000 lakes and reservirs (水库) arund the wrld, using available climate data f each lcatin.
The researchers’ calculatins included lakes and reservirs where flating slar panels are mst likely t be installed. They are n mre than 10 km frm a ppulatin centre; they are nt in a prtected area; they dn’t dry up and dn’t freeze fr mre than six mnths each year. They estimated the ptential utput by assuming that the flating slar panels wuld cver up t 10% f the surface area f these water bdies, with a maximum cverage area f 30 km2.
While utput varied depending n altitude, latitude and seasn, the ptential annual electricity generatin frm the flating slar panels n these lakes was 1,302 terawatt hurs (TWh), arund fur times the ttal annual electricity demand f the UK.
Flating slar panels have a number f additinal advantages ver land-based slar installatins: They free up land fr ther uses and they keep panels cler, making them mre efficient. There is sme evidence fr ther envirnmental benefits, including reducing water lss thrugh evapratin by sheltering the lakes’ surface frm the sun and wind, and reducing algal blms by limiting light.
Hwever, the researchers warn that further research is needed n the verall envirnmental impact f flating slar panels. They suggest that decisins t deply flating slar panels shuld cnsider the intended functin f water bdies and hw they are used, as well as the ptential eclgical impact. Lead authr f the paper, Dr Iestyn Wlway f Bangr University, said, "We still dn’t knw exactly hw flating panels might affect the ecsystem within a natural lake, in different cnditins and lcatins."
12.What d we knw abut the chsen lakes and reservirs?
A.They are remte.
B.They are in reserves.
C.They are cnditinal.
D.They are under develpment.
13.Which f the fllwing can best describe the technlgy?
A.Lacking research.
B.Lacking innvatin.
C.Being rich in challenges.
D.Being full f ptential.
14.What can be inferred frm the last paragraph?
A.The side effects f the technlgy are unknwn.
B.Many flating slar panels have been deplyed n the lakes.
C.We shuld prmte the technlgy regardless f its impact.
D.The researchers are ding further research n the technlgy.
15.What may be the best title fr the text?
A.Unlcking the ptential f flating slar panels fr glbal energy needs.

The main difference is that vitamins are essential nutrients, but mst f them are nt fund naturally in ur bdy.(主要区别在于,维生素是必需的营养素,但它们中的大多数并不是天然存在于我们的身体中。)"

⑤根据下文"Examples include excessive fatigue fr n apparent reasns, depressin, bne and muscle pain, lss f bne density, rickets in children, hair lss, slw wund healing prcesses and an increased likelihd f clds and infectins.
spend mney (in)ding sth.
故填but/while/yet。
故填wh/that。
