In the wild, dnkeys can live int their mid-teens, while dmesticated (驯养) dnkeys can live a much lnger life. It’s generally cnsidered that an aged dnkey is ne that is ver 20 years ld, but many dnkeys live int their 30s, with sme ging n int their 40s, r extremely rarely, their fifth decade. This is mre the case in dnkeys kept as pets rather than as wrking dnkeys.
    Dnkeys tend t live lnger than hrses live, and this cmes dwn t bilgical reasns and species differences. As equines (马科动物) age, it becmes mre difficult fr them t bite their fd int pieces and take in the energy they need t maintain a healthy bdy weight. Fr hrses, this can be a real prblem. Hwever, a dnkey’s digestive (消化的) system is much mre efficient, meaning a dnkey nly requires 50% — 75% f the fd that a hrse f a similar size wuld need.     Once the area arund Birmingham was filled with rchards (果园), resulting in its being called “a city surrunded by blssms (花朵)”. Hwever, by the 1900s, industrializatin (工业化) had begun t take hld, and the rchards were destryed t make rm fr buildings and factries. And accrding t the Natinal Trust, Birmingham has lst 85% f its trees since the beginning f the 20th century.
    But n January 17, 2023 that began t change. Accrding t the website Secret Birmingham, a number 11 bus left its statins filled with trees instead f peple. All alng its 27-mile path, the bus drpped ff thse trees t citizens, schls, and cmmunity grups, wh then planted them. All in all, abut 600 trees have been handed ut.
    “Blssm is nt nly beautiful, but it’s als imprtant fr the wellbeing f the envirnment,” says Lucy Reid, wh’s leading the Birmingham prject. “It’s als great fr pllinatrs (传粉者), such as bees, which help trees prduce fruit, and the trees als help t clean the air.”
    This isn’t the first time the Natinal Trust has helped Birmingham blssm. The Trust created “blssms pp-ups” as part f the Birmingham 2022 Festival. Accrding t the prject, blssming tree installatins (装置) were set up in varius well-knwn Birmingham lcatins such as St. Philip’s Cathedral Square.
    The Natinal trust has als started blssming tree prjects in ther UK cities. In 2021, it created the Lndn Blssm Garden, and nw the Trust is planting fruit trees in Plymuth, Newcastle, and Nttingham. Its wrk is imprtant fr the prtectin f the cuntry’s wildlands and climate.
