It cmes as n surprise t anyne wh sweated thrugh it: 2023 was an extremely ht year in human histry. Accrding t a reprt, the average surface temperature rse nearly0.2 ℃ abve the previus recrd, set in 2016, t 1.48 ℃ abve pre-industrial levels. Only Australia was red recrd-setting heat.
Humanity’s burning f fssil fuels is the dminant driver f the lng-term trend, but it is insufficient t explain the sudden rise in temperatures in 2023. One wrsening factr was the end f a La Niña climate pattern, which frm 2020 t 2022 stirred up a rising amunt f deep cld water in the eastern Pacific Ocean that absrbed heat and cntrlled glbal temperatures. In 2023, the pattern changed int an El Niñ event, which blanketed the equatrial Pacific with warm waters and began t bst glbal temperatures. But the change is nt enugh t explain the temperature recrd frm 2023. Usually, El Niñ plays a larger rle in glbal temperatures the year after it starts.
The eruptin f Hunga Tnga-Hunga Ha’apai, a vlcan in the Suth Pacific Ocean, has been a suspect in the glbal temperature jump because f the vast amunts f climate-warming water vapr it injected int the stratsphere (平流层). Perhaps the best explanatin fr the extra warming is the cntinued drp in light-blcking pllutin as sciety shifts t cleaner surces f energy. In 2022, satellites began t detect this decrease frm ce.

The mystery f 2023 leaves predictins fr 2024 less certain than usual. El Nin may raise temperatures further, briefly pushing the wrld past the 1.5℃ limit settled by the 2015 Paris Agreement t prtect small-island natins frm the sea-level spike. But extreme heat will again have t develp ver the nrthern ceans fr the wrld t exceed the limit—hardly a sure bet. Regardless, the lng-term warming pattern is certain t cntinue, as it has fr decades, until fssil fuel burning ends.

Even thugh artificial intelligence (AI) can pass the bar exam, tp medical tests and read bedtime stries with emtin, it will never match the wnders f the human mind withut first mastering the art f sarcasm (讽刺).

The database was created by researchers in the US and Singapre, wh explained sentences frm the TV shws with sarcasm labels t build their wn detectr.
After training n the text, audi, and emtinal cntent frm varius scenes, AI demnstrated an impressive ability t detect sarcasm. The results shwed that AI culd identify sarcastic remarks in unlabelled exchanges frm situatin cmedies nearly 75% f the time, highlighting significant prgress in bridging the cmmunicatin gap between humans and machines.

34.Hw des AI get trained in sarcasm?
A.By sending text.
B.By teaching algrithms.
C.By using sme kind f drama.
D.By watching sme talent shws.
35.What is the best title fr the text?
