    In 1893, Wright funded his architectural practice in Oak Park n the Western edge f Chicag. It was at his Oak Park Studi during the first decade f the twentieth century that Wright pineered a bld new apprach t dmestic architecture, the Prairie (大草原) style. Inspired by the brad, flat landscape f America’s Midwest, the Prairie style was the first uniquely American architectural style f what has been called “the American Century”.
    At the time Wright funded his practice, American dmestic architecture remained stuck in the past. Huse styles were frm the architecture f ld Eurpe.
