A primary driver behind the rise f green living is the increasing awareness f envirnmental issues, particularly the urgent need t address climate change. As peple becme mre infrmed abut the harmful effects f carbn emissins, defrestatin, and pllutin, there is a cllective push tward adpting practices that minimize eclgical impact.

Imagining a human being withut histrical sense is scary. The thught f living exclusively in a present mment is scary. Scarier still is the thught f an entire generatin, nt t mentin sciety, perating with a lack f a sense f histry. And yet that is exactly the situatin in which we find urselves tday.
The peple and events f histry may be rted in the past, but hw we talk abut thse things, what we write abut them, and hw we teach them-in ther wrds, hw we practise histry as the recrd f human experience-tell us a lt abut wh we are and what we value right nw. Thinking f urselves as a chapter in an as-yet unwritten histry bk, n the ther hand, is likely t frce deeper self-reflectin: Whse stries will we stand up fr? What values will we defend? What mdels will we ffer fllwing generatins? In an era f envirnmental change, rising inequality and great shifts in the internatinal plitical cntext, we need t understand hw ur institutins have develped. Histry gives us pwer. N ther subject helps us t understand s cmprehensively what it is t be human.
The implicatins f ignrance f what have happened are incredible, but the ignrance itself isn't entirely surprising given the lwered status f histry in mst schls. The discipline f histry has becme sidelined (边缘化). "Histry fights fr its place in the curriculum with gegraphy," Dr. Bain bserved, "but its attentin t time, place and cntext is what makes it really distinct." In ther wrds, histry desn't simply tell us hw t be gd citizens: It equips us with the knwledge we need t cmprehend ur wrld clearly, and the ability t analyze it accurately.
Clearly, in an age f "fake news", engaged citizens need t be culturally literate, critical thinkers. There is n better subject than histry t develp an appreciatin f cntext and an ability t lk fr evidence. We shuld expect a lgical histry curriculum fr ur children. If it were cmmn t hear graduates claim that they'd never learned t add, subtract, multiply and divide, there wuld be a severe prtest. S shuld there be nw.
    32. What is the situatin the authr mentined in paragraph 1?
    A. The fear f the past.B. The ignrance f histry.
    C. The exclusin f the present.D. The dissatisfactin f sciety.
    33. What des the authr mainly stress in paragraph 2?
    A. Cnsequences f verlking histry.
    B. Significance f mastering all subjects.
    C. Insights frm histry fr tday and tmrrw.
    D. Reslutins f the current internatinal issues.
    34. Which ne f the fllwing ideas might Dr. Bain agree with?
    A. Critical thinking is key t studying histry well.
    B. Schls shuld enhance the status f histry curriculum.
    C. Ignrance f histry is nt as terrible as expected in schls.
    D. Gegraphy prves mre meaningful and practical than histry.
    35. What des the underlined sentence "S shuld there be nw." mean?

    B. Peple are dissatisfied with graduates' ability t calculate.
    C. We shuld make histry curriculum mre lgical and critical.
    D. We shuld pay the same attentin t histry as t ther subjects.
