Callie climbed up the steps and then crawled twards the hay bales t where she’ d heard the cry. “Are yu in there?” she called. And there it was again—a faint, desperate mew behind the bales! Determined t find the surce, she began t mve the hay bales, which, hwever, were t heavy fr her t lift. Just when she was at a lss, she heard her brther’s vice. “I’ll d it!” Briggs was already halfway up the ladder t ffer help.
    Thanks t Briggs’s help, the last heavy bale was mved, revealing a tiny, frightened kitten. Its fur was matted with hay, and it shivered as Callie carefully reached ut t it. “It’s kay, little ne. I’ve gt yu nw,” she whispered, gently cradling the kitten in her arms. It lked up and purred, blinking its eyes at Callie. “I think she’s saying thank yu.” Briggs remarked, “Yu’ve gt better ears than me.” Callie let ut a breath and grinned, “Thank yu fr helping me. Yu are always the best!” In the bright mnlight, the brther and sister walked hme with their new friend, chatting and laughing, their hearts full f jy.

    M: I dn’t think I have t d that. As far as I am cncerned, Bad Bys is first n his list.

    W: It’s nt wasting time if yu d it at certain times, basically, during breaks and at lunch. Als, small talk shuld nt be viewed as a time t get persnal infrmatin. That’s implite. Well, in fact, it’s nt difficult t make small talk.
    M: Hmm, I see. What else?
    W: Bb, I knw this is imprtant, but can we talk after wrk? We have a prject t cmplete befre the end f the day. Dn’t yu remember the deadline? Hw abut a cnversatin ver lunch?

    W: N, I’m frm Crdba in the suth.

    W: Well, I’m a student. I’m studying psychlgy at university in Seville, which is a big city near Crdba.
    M: Psychlgy! That’s interesting. And what d yu plan t d when yu graduate?
    W: I’m nt sure yet. But perhaps I will try t wrk in a hspital.
    M: I see. And what d yu d in yur spare time?
    W: Well, I dn’t have much free time because I have t study a lt and I have a part-time jb as a waitress in a restaurant. But I like t play tennis and see my friends. I’ll als g dancing a lt and nw I’m learning traditinal Spanish dancing.
    M: That must be very interesting.

    M: Mrs. Bishp, please sit dwn. Nw, tell me, what’s the truble?
    W: Well, it’s like this, dctr. When I get t sleep I cunt the sheep and then, I end up waking myself up and I spend hurs just lying, staring at the ceiling. My husband desn’t help much either, with his breathing.
    M: Mmm, I see. Is smething wrrying yu?
    W: Well, yes, there is. Yu see, I just seem t be getting fatter and fatter. I went t the gym. I went swimming. I went jgging. But I didn’t lse any weight. Every time I lk in the mirrr, I feel mre and mre depressed and s then, what shuld I d?
    M: Well, Mrs. Bishp. What d yu d?
    W: I g dwnstairs int the kitchen and pen the fridge. Then I g back t bed feeling sick, as well as depressed. I feel s disappinted in myself. What shuld I d?
    M: I see. Well, here are sme sleeping pills. They’ll calm yur nerves and help yu rest. Take tw tablets half an hur befre ging t bed at night, and here’s a diet I think yu shuld start straightaway. Cme back and see me in a cuple f weeks. Alright?

    Welcme t this week’s prgram. This week we’re ging t talk abut Castle Hward, in Sussex. As yu may knw, Castle Hward was badly burnt in a fire tw years ag. But it will be pen t the public fr the first time in tw years n Sunday, the 2nd f April. The pening times are frm 10:00 a. m. t 5:30 p. m. frm Mnday t Friday, 10:30 a. m. t 4 p. m. n weekends. Yu’ll be able t visit it all thrugh the summer until the1st f Octber, when it will be clsed again. It’s well wrth a visit. Yu’ll need a whle day just t wander arund its splendid rms. Of particular interest is the Dining Rm in the West Wing with its fascinating cllectin f china, dating back t the 17th century. Yu shuld als take advantage f its wnderful grunds. Yu can even have yur lunch in the pen-air restaurant behind the castle, a setting with n air cnditining. Castle Hward is a great day ut fr all the family with its reasnable prices t! Fr a family tur, the children get in free f charge. That’s all fr tday, listeners. But dn’t miss next week’s prgram.
