M: Well… it is nt actually smething I planned t d. It was a fun jb I tk n while I was at university t earn a bit f extra mney and when I did it actually, it turned ut that I was quite gd at it.
W: What d yu have t d as a living statue?
M: Firstly, yu shuld cme up with a creative idea and then yu have t practice and find the right clthes and stuff and d the full bdy make-up.
W: Yu wn the Wrld Living Statue Champinships recently. Culd yu tell us smething abut that?
M: Um, fr the Wrld Champinships I was a stne statue and I painted in thse tiny marks s that I lked like a kind f ld, almst falling apart statue, and I think the judges really appreciated that.
W: Yep, I get it. S what is the pint f ding this jb?
M: The pint really is the cnnectin yu make with yur audience. When yu make a tiny mvement they tend t explde with laughter. And it’s that interactin between the audience and the perfrmer that’s really what it’s all abut.
W: And what is the secret f being a gd living statue?
M: Firstly, never try and perfrm n an empty stmach. If yu get hungry, yu can start t feel light-headed, s yu always need t eat smething first. Well, gd stmach muscles are key, t. Yu need t have them t hld thse psitins.

W: Here’s yur new library card. It will run ut ne year later frm tday and allw yu t brrw up t 15 bks per mnth. The library is pen frm 9 a.m. t 7 p.m. every day except Sundays and public hlidays. On the first flr, yu’ll find fictin, literature, bigraphy, travel and lifestyle bks, gardening bks, and ckbks. There’s als a phtcpier fr public use. Cpies cst twenty cents each, but I recmmend yu buy a mnthly cpier card fr $10, which gives yu 60 cpies per mnth at a reduced price.
On the secnd flr, yu’ll find technlgy, gegraphy, science bks, and children’s bks. There’s a small children’s recreatin area there as well, and n Saturdays, we hld a stry reading mrning fr yung kids.
The third flr has histry, maps, newspapers, jurnals, and arts and humanities bks.
We have cmputers with Internet access n the furth flr. The cmputers are free t use, but there’s a tw-hur limit. It’s first-cme, first-served. Just put yur name dwn n the list if yu want t use ne. If yu want t use yur wn cmputer in the library, we have free wireless access as well.
