Miss England, Jessica Gagen, is nt yur rdinary beauty winner. She just added an impressive title, a rcket scientist, t her career.
The 27-year-ld just graduated frm the University f Liverpl with a degree in Aerspace Engineering and she has set her sights n becming an astrnaut(宇航员).
But winning her title just a few mnths befre cmpleting her degree was n easy task fr the energetic redhead frm Kelmersdale. She is the first red-headed wman—and the first rcket scientist—t be crwned(加冕)Miss England.
Gagen was able t manage bth her cmpetitin and her schlwrk but the stress f ding bth left her with chest pains and sleeplessness. Hwever, she didn’t give up, just as she had been treated badly and always been made fun f as a child fr having red hair.
“It was a tugh five-year jurney t get t this pint, and I faced challenges befre I even began,” Gagen said. “I think it’s imprtant that tday’s yuth knw that smetimes things dn’t g entirely t plan, and that’s perfectly kay.”
Befre starting at the university, Gagen studied a fundatin year in physics while wrking n weekends because she didn’t have all the curses she needed fr the prgram. She began studying at the university in 2019 and when the pandemic(流行病)hit, all the curse wrk went nline. She did this while wrking full time at night.
During the curse f her studies, Gagen saw that there were very few females in STEM and decided t make it her task t prmte(提升)careers in STEM fr wmen and girls n her scial media.

The big French pet care cmpany AgrBithers Labratire will n lnger sell very small cntainers fr raising fish.

Ggle says an Al-pwered system it created is helping imprve traffic flw in majr cities. The system, called Prject Green Light, is nw in use in 12 cities. The prject aims t save energy and reduce air pllutin, r emissins(排放量), frm cars.
Ggle first annunced the prgram in 2021, when it was testing the system in fur areas f Britain. Since then, the cmpany has kept increasing Prject Green Light. Amng cities nw taking part in the prgram are Bangalre, Budapest, Jakarta, Manchester, Haifa, Hamburg, Ri de Janeir, and Seattle.
