    After that, he ges back t his rm. Unluckily, his parents are waiting fr him. Finding his T-shirt missing, they get quite angry and dn’t allw him t g ut within a week. Jack ges t his rm withut any wrds, but he can’t fall asleep because he is wrrying abut Falc.
    In the early mrning, Jack takes sme bread t feed Falc and ges back t his rm secretly. After breakfast, Jack ges t the garden shed, hlding a small bwl f water.
    In the shed, he finds Falc sitting quietly in a crner, the bread still n the flr. Falc’s eyes are pen, but nt bright nw. Jack puts the water in frnt f Falc. At first, Falc ignres (忽视) it, then he begins t drink. Jack sits quietly, lking at him, imagining Falc flying in the endless blue sky. But nw he is trapped n the earth. “Hw can I help yu return t the sky, Falc?”
    When Jack leaves the shed, his brther Jim is waiting fr him utside.
    “What’s s interesting in the shed?”
    “Nthing.”
    “Tell me the truth, Jack. I think yu haven’t frgtten my brken rcket!”
    Finally, Jack has n chice but t tell his brther the truth. Jim becmes very excited.
    “Jim, please dn’t say anything t Mum and Dad. I can repair yur rcket.”
    “My rcket isn’t imprtant, Jack. But Falc is!”
    Then the brthers discuss hw t feed Falc. They decide t get help frm their friend Hlly because she knws a lt abut animals, birds and nature. Later, the brthers g t Hlly. Hlly advises them t feed sme meat t Falc.
    Over the next few days, Falc gets much better. He always eats the meat Jack and Jim bring him frm the kitchen. Jack even digs up wrms in the park fr Falc. Falc lves them! His feathers lk bright and shiny, t. But he still can’t fly.
    One mrning, Hlly cmes t see Falc. After watching it fr a while, Hlly says, “Falc is well enugh t fly again!” Hearing this, they happily pen the dr, and watch Falc step int the sunlight slwly. Falc beats his wings and tries t fly in small circles, then in large nes. Suddenly, he makes a lud cry and flies away. Jack feels a bit sad, but he knws they are right.
    One evening, Jack and Jim are sitting in their rm. It is a cl and quiet evening. Suddenly, he hears a cry frm far away. A familiar (熟悉的) cry. A bird is flying in circles acrss the sky. It’s Falc! Jack watches it fly, happy and wild.

    His grandpa smiled and said. “I believe ur Patrasche wants t help pull the cart.” Hearing Grandpa’s wrds, Patrasche was wagging his tail even harder.
    Patrasche had been badly treated by his master all his life. Never had anyne treated him nicely as Nell and his grandpa. Patrasche was thankful fr the kindness he received, s he wanted t help, Grandpa tied a stripe n Patrasche, and he started t pull the cart right away.

    “Wh are yu?” he asks. “And what are yu ding here?” “I’m Drthy and this is the Scarecrw,” Drthy explains.
    “We’re ging t see the Great Oz in the Emerald City. I want t ask him t send me back t Kansas. The Scarecrw wants t ask him fr a brain.”
    “I dn’t have a heart,” the Tin Wdman says. “Can Oz give me ne?”
