    The 3D Dinsaur
    Jhn Simpsn
Call me the yungest dinsaur in the wrld. Nt the kind wh attacks yu in a 3D mvie. The ther kind: a dinsaur f ld-fashined pinin. Hw ld-fashined? Let’s just say I cnsider 3D physically dangerus, ecnmically greedy, artistically self-defeating and imaginatively silly.
    That kind f dinsaur.
When yu watch a 3D film, yur brain receives tw slightly different 2D images and is frced t make sense f them by cmbining them int ne. The immediate result f this cmbinatin is an enhanced sense f apparent depth (the “third” dimensin). The nt-s-immediate result is, fr at least 15 percent f us, eye strain, headaches and a dangerus dis-rientatin (定向障碍). These risks are greatest fr children and teenagers. It is even pssible that children will develp permanent prblems with depth perceptin (感知) if they are ver-expsed t 3D.
Why d film-makers bring abut these risks n us? S they can charge us extra at the ticket ffice. Wh wins ut f this? Nt us. S wh des? The film-makers themselves?
They might think they d, but they shuld think again. If 3D becmes the new standard, we will see a shift in the kind f films that are made. Setting and actin take ver. Character, relatinships and plt becme weaker. N film that lacks the prmise f a 3D thrill will even find the financial backing t be made. S stand back, all yu serius film-makers, and make rm fr kids’ mvies and animatin.
But the mst annying thing abut 3D is that it is nt necessary. There is already depth in 2D media. The imaginatin finds it there. If we depend n special glasses t find it, we have already begun t replace the wnders f imaginatin with the tricks f technlgy.
I heard a child leaving a cinema recently annunce, “I wish life was 3D!”That shuld be sad, nt just t us dinsaurs, but t everyne.
28.What kind f dinsaur des Jhn Simpsn claim t be?
A.The kind that is yuthful and creative.B.The kind that is fund in many frms.
C.The kind that disapprves f new ideas.D.The kind that appears in many ppular films.
29.Why are the incmplete sentences used in the first tw paragraphs?
A.They make peple feel the language f a debate.
    B.They cast dubt n Jhn Simpsn’s credibility.
C.They suggest Jhn Simpsn is a hesitant character.
D.They shw that the subject f the text is nt serius.
30.Which aspect f 3D films des the text emphasize mst strngly?
    A.The cst f prductin.B.The number f films made.
    C.The effect n audiences.D.The special skills f film-makers.
31.What des the authr claim t find mst disturbing abut 3D films?
A.They make peple feel unwell.B.Their ticket prices are t high.
    C.They lead t a lss f imaginatin.D.They reduce the range f films available.

With every step we take, ur shes leave behind an invisible trail f cntaminants (污染物). These cntaminants can ptentially harm the sil, water and animal health.
Shes cntain different types f plastics. Every year, abut 500,000 tns f micrplastics seep int the wrld’s ceans. Micrplastics are tiny pieces f plastic. They frm as larger plastic bjects break dwn. They can harm living things and the envirnment.
Nw, several cmpanies are starting t develp plant-based sles (鞋底). They dn’t leave plastics behind when they break dwn. Plant-based sles address sme f these issues. They wn’t shed plastic int the envirnment. Plus, they generate fewer txic chemicals. But shes made with natural materials face sme f the same challenges as plastic-based shes nce they’re thrwn ut. Taking the shes apart is still hard. Recycling shes will require setting up new systems.
Bgle had an idea t create an entirely plastic-free she utsle. He gt sme help frm Gene Kelly. He is a prfessr f sil science at Clrad State University and a fellw runner. Tgether, Bgle and Kelly develped a she sle. It is made f beeswax, vegetable ils and plant prducts such as leaves and husks frm crn and ther crps.
Bgle’s cmpany, Slum, partners with farmers acrss the cuntry. The farmers grw and harvest the plant materials. Then, the materials are transfrmed int little plant balls and blended with natural rubber t create the sle. Slum’s shes dn’t shed txic chemicals. Instead, the sles put nutrients back int the sil as they naturally wear dwn ver time.
These days, Bgle runs, hikes and glfs in shes with his cmpany’s plant-based sles. “Ftwear is a very hard prduct t fix,” he said. “It really requires cmpletely shifting hw we think abut ftwear and hw we make ftwear and the materials we use.”
32.What prblems f shes are mentined in the passage?
A.Shes are easy t break dwn but nearly impssible t recycle.
B.Peple buy new shes every year but quite a few are thrwn away.
C.Plastics f shes d harm t ur envirnment and living things.
D.Ftwear industry is intensely cmpetitive in the prductin f shes.
33.Hw did Bgle address the shes issues?
A.By develping shes made f natural materials.
B.By asking ther cmpanies fr technical supprt.
C.By allwing lcal farmers t jin in his research.
D.By testing ut his cmpany’s shes in running races.
34.What is the advantage f Slum’s shes ver thers?
A.They can endure lts f wear and tear.
B.They dn’t shed bits f chemicals at all.
C.They are cheap in materials and prductin.
D.They bring nutrients t sil instead f plastics.
    35.Hw d we describe Bgle?
    A.Mdest and capable.B.Passinate and friendly.
    C.Creative and respnsible.D.Warm-hearted and devted.
