In early 2018, a pair f giant pandas frm China made their first public appearance at the Ahtari Z in central Finland. It was the first time that pandas had cme t live in Nrthern Eurpe, and the event was met with great enthusiasm frm the Finnish public. The pandas, Hua Ba and Jin Baba, were nicknamed “Pyry” and “Lumi” —meaning “heavy snwfall” and “snw”—by their hsts in Finland.
Meanwhile, tw years befre their arrival, a grup f lcal farmers had taken up the challenge f grwing bamb in the cuntry where temperatures ften fall t belw 30 degrees Celsius in winter.
