【基础知识】
1、定义
过去进行时常表示过去某一时刻或过去某一阶段内正在进行的动作。
构成：
was/were +ding
3、过去进行时的基本句型
肯定式：I was wrking. He / She / it was wrking. We were wrking.
疑问式：Were yu wrking? Was he / she / it wrking? Were we wrking?
否定式：I was nt wrking. He / she / it was nt wrking. We were nt wrking.
4、过去进行时的基本用法
1）、过去进行时表示过去某一时间正在进行的动作，常和表过去的时间状语连用，at this/that time yesterday, at that time , at six yesterday evening , frm eight ’clck t nine ’clck last night 如：
I was ding my hmewrk at this time yesterday.
、常用于when/while引导的时间状语
过去进行时+when+一般过去时；

一般过去时+while +过去进行时；
过去进行时+while +过去进行时。
5. 一般过去时和过去进行时的区别
（1）一般过去式常表示在过去某时发生的动作或存在的状态（包括过去习惯动作），常与一般过去时连用
的时间状语有just nw, a mment ag, yesterday, last week(mnth, year), the day befre yesterday及表
示过去的时间状语从句。如：
I was sixteen yesterday ld last year.
He wrked in a factry in 1986.
I met her in the street the day befre yesterday.
He ften swam in the river when he was yung.
（2）过去进行时表示过去某一段时间或某一时刻正在进行的动作。常与之连用的时间状语有，at that
time/mment, (at) this time yesterday (last night/Sunday/week…), at+点钟+yesterday (last night /
Sunday…)，when sb. did sth等时间状语从句。

（3）一般过去时往往表示某一动作已经完成，而过去进行时却表示动作在持续或未完成。如：
