根据前文“The prpsal gained attentin recently after dzens f wildlife prtectin and animal welfare rganizatins signed a letter ppsing the plan. 由此推知,“They urged Secretary f the Interir Deb Haaland t scrap what it calls a thughtless plan.
    13.答案:A
根据第三段“Hwever, Camern Barrws, a retired researcher at the Center fr Cnservatin Bilgy at the University f Califrnia-Riverside, says that withut a barred wl management strategy, sptted wls will disappear. Cnservatin experts wh supprt the prpsal say it's a difficult but necessary plan t help slve a prblem that humans helped create.
故选A项。
根据倒数第二段“Human driven habitat destructin frced the barred wls t expand acrss the cuntry, said Claire Catania, the executive directr f Birds Cnnect Seattle.(西雅图鸟类连接组织的执行董事克莱尔·卡塔尼亚说,人类造成的栖息地破坏迫使横斑林鸮在全国范围内扩张)”可知,由于人类活动,它们的栖息地被破坏了,所以横斑林鸮会向西迁徙。故选B项。
根据第一段“A prpsal by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) t kill mre than 470,000 barred wls (横斑林鸮) t prtect the sptted wl (西点林鸮) has cnservatinists and animal welfare advcates debating the mral issue f killing ne species t prtect anther..(美国鱼类和野牛动物管理局(USFWS)提议杀死47万多只横斑林鸮以保护西点林鸮,这一提议引起了自然资源保护主义者和动物福利倡导者对杀死一个物种以保护另一个物种的道德问题进行辩论)”以及纵观全文可知,本文主要讲述了一项杀死横斑林鸮以拯救西点林鸮的提议引发了一场争论。故选C项。
    16.答案:FGEDA
解析:①F根据前文“I dentity theft is a prblem that affects millins f peple each year. (身份盗窃是一个每年影响数百万人的问题)”以及后文“Thankfully here are sme simple ways t prtect yurself frm identity thieves.(值得庆幸的是,这里有一些简单的方法可以保护你免受身份窃贼的侵害)”可知,前文讲述身份盗窃是一个问题,后文讲述有方法可以避免,所以空处应是过渡句,F项“Sme peple are wrried abut this ccurrence and are trying t avid it(有些人担心这种情况的发生,并试图避免它)”符合文意,承接上文,并引出下文。故选F项。
②G根据前文“Shred (粉碎) any dcuments yu dn't need, especially the nes that cntain persnal infrmatin..(撕碎任何你不需要的文件,尤其是那些包含个人信息的文件)”可知,本段主要讲述,撕碎任何包含个人信息的文件,所以G项“Bills and credit card statements are examples f dcuments t destry fr safety..(为了安全起见,账单和信用卡对账单都是需要销毁的文件)”是对前文的举例,符合本段主题。故选G项。
③E根据前文“Prtect yur cmputer frm viruses t stay secure nline..(保护您的计算机免受病毒侵害,以保持在线安全)”以及后文“Yu als need t put in a firewall and an antivirus and keep them updated. Many hackers (黑客) gather persnal infrmatin frm cmputers and it is imprtant t prtect yurself against these attacks.
Carry nly the minimum persnal infrmatin yu need at any given time. Never carry yur credit cards, passprt, and scial security card in the same wallet. Make phtcpies f all the cards and dcuments in yur wallet t keep at hme, r scan them and stre them electrnically.
D“These recrds can be extremely helpful if yur valletis stlen.(如果你的钱包被偷了,这些记录会常有用)”符合本段主题,是对前文的总结。故选D
⑤A根据前文“Safeguard yur mailbx well One cmmn way fr criminals t steal persnal infrmatin is by searching thrugh mailbxes.(保护好你的邮箱。 When yu have a chice between receiving email r pstal mail, A“Nwadays many persnal dcuments arrive by mail. 故选A项。
