A subrdinating cnjunctin is a wrd that links a subrdinate clause(dependent clause) t a main clause(independent clause). Fr example:Yu must leave the ball befre the clck strikes midnight.(In this example, the subrdinating cnjunctin is "befre." It is part f the subrdinate clause "befre the clck strikes midnight.")
The main rle f a subrdinating cnjunctin and the subrdinate clause is t establish a time, a place, a reasn, r a cnditin fr the main clause. 1.If yur subrdinate cnjunctin heads up a clause at the start f yur sentence, ffset the clause with a cmma.When a subrdinate clause functining as an adverb starts a sentence, separate it frm the main clause with a cmma.If yu sht at mimes, shuld yu use a silencer? A cmma is used with a frnted adverbial clause because the cmma makes it clear where the main clause starts.
