I had heard abut VR (虚拟现实) being used in the classrm but didn’t think I’d ever try it. I actually gt a VR headset (耳机) as a New Year present frm my friend and started searching fr apps nline t see whether it culd be useful in my classrm. I sn fund a free app thrugh Ggle Cardbard and knew I had a lessn!
T use VR in the classrm, yu need tw things: a smartphne that can dwnlad the app r vide, and a headset. T find the actual vides we’d be watching, I searched thrugh free VR apps like Orbulus, Trench Experience VR and Cardbard. I als fund hundreds f vides n YuTube. The key is t find vides made with the 360 cameras. While they dn’t give the kids a 3-D experience like the apps, they are still amazingly immersive (沉浸式虚拟现实的) when viewed thrugh the headsets.
S far we’ve had three lessns. I first used the headsets with my seventh grade U. S. Histry class. The Trench app allws students t “walk” thrugh a trench (战壕) during Wrld War Ⅰ and learn abut many f the tls used during that time. My secnd activity was wrking with the sixth grade Gegraphy class. They used the headsets strictly as viewers t watch a 360 vide taking them thrugh a rcky landscape. My final activity was the mst interesting ne, accrding t the reactins (反应) f my eighth grade Civics students. I was able t find a White Huse 360 tur that was made a few years ag.

Smetimes it takes a crisis (危机) t bring friends tgether. When Hurricane (飓风) Maria went thrugh the island f Cay Santiag in 2017, the mnkeys living there became kinder tward each ther, accrding t a study published in the jurnal Current Bilgy.

This "easy" way t making friends is ften mirrred in human sciety.
